Perhaps my complaint seems insignificant but be assured it isn't to me. This past Tuesday, March 19, I received via my personal email a "termination notice" from Columbia Gas of Ohio. Apparently, my bill was past due. It made me think I don't remember getting the bill in the mail. I immediately paid the bill in full via credit card through the automated payment. Then today, March 21, I got another email, again threatening termination, with an additional bill (apparently the latest bill, in addition to the one on Tuesday). I called Columbia Gas, and after valuable time away from work spent on the phone, the person with whom I spoke discovered that the reason I had not gotten the bill is that I was on "paperless billing." I assured the spokesperson I neither knew of nor consented to such. Further, I made it clear I resented the "termination threat" with its implied characterization that I was a person who did not pay my bills. I pay my bills in full, and on time - always! Utilities, credit cards, and so forth. So via credit card I paid in full the new bill from Columbia Gas today. Some of us in Ohio pay our bills in full to Columbia Gas, despite being "bullied" by them over their own company's error. I have never failed to pay a bill to this company, or any other for that matter. Columbia Gas of Ohio has much to learn regarding demonstrating appreciation and respect toward its customers.

I played my gas bills from September 2023 to December 2023 and have the reference numbers. It was over 300 dollars. They said I did not pay it. The agent back in September 2023 said I could pay the bills until I am reverified by the pipp program to pay 40 per month on the pipp program. The pipp program was reverified on my other bill statements. Now I have to call them both to day. The pipp program has different agents. I have to wait a month to be reverified. They gave Columbia gas the information yet.

I usually shut my gas off through the summer months since I only use my gas to heat my place. So when I call to pay the installation fee and have it turned back on. I was able to make a payment over the phone but then it would not let me have my service turned on instead I had to call customer service and wait for ever only to be told if have to call back next Monday because customer service was now closed. This is bull I set on hold for ever only to be told at 10 after seven you were closed. Now I have to deal with a cold weekend and you took my money. Something needs to be done here

We just bought a house, our first bill is $31 and the house is vacant, for the second month our bill is $49 and the house is still vacant. I don’t understand what am I paying for if my usage is 0 for the first month, and for the second month it’s 2ccf. Which should be a $1 charge. I’ve been on the phone for over 45 minutes to talk to someone on a Thursday, I’m guessing everyone is complaining about their bills. I don’t understand why this company is taking advantage of consumers like this. A vacant house bill should be $0. This is definitely theft and no one can do anything in my neighborhood because it’s the only provider of gas in the area. Nevertheless we are willing to pay for it if they give us a good reason for this change in the bill for the same vacant house.

My daughter called in and paid a gas bill in hopes to reactivate her gas on 08/01/23 of the month when she received her disability check. Today I had her call on speaker phone because she told me that she spoke with you again and was told she had to pay $51.00 more dollars in order to reactivate service. So moving forward to today 08/16/23 I had her call so I could pay the remaining balance for her. I am an authorized representative for her as she has epilepsy and a brain tumor. We had the phone on speaker. After we entered her account information the recording then stated she had a credit of $51.00?? I was so confused we requested to speak to a representative to find out why she still had no gas service. For 26 days she has been walking in the heat blocks away with her three children to be able to take a hot bath/shower. After explaining the frustration the man showed zero remorse about the situation.which definitely infuriated me. I feel like there was so.e kind of miscommunication during the time the payment for the gas bill and reconnect request was made. My daughter should have been advised from jump that "she needed to clearly state she wanted her service back on!??" This is mind blowing to me as I run group homes for individuals who have disabilities and wonder how many of them might be going through a similar experience with your company.

I scheduled off work for a meter read appointment today. I received a call from a ***** number, which I never answer. Got a voicemail saying it was the technician confirming the appointment. I called right back and said Im here and ready for the appointment. They informed me that it was too late, and the technician was scheduled elsewhere and wed have to pick a new day. I now have to schedule off work again so they can come read my meter. I wish there were other options for gas service, because I would drop Columbia gas in a heartbeat.

The end of August i had called Columbia Gas to start service at my new home on 8/29. I spoke with *******. I moved in Sept 2nd. Had hot water and heat until this past Thursday night, when I noticed it was chilly. I checked and furnace not running. Next day called AHS for repair request. In meantime, went to do dishes and noticed water was tepid. Called AHS for repair request. Spoke with my realtor. Suggested I called the gas company. Called Columbia and 1st person couldn't tell me anything, she was not sure what to do. 2nd call and person, looked up info and told me my gas had been turned off yesterday 9/28. It had still been in previous owners name. Didn't find anything in my name. Also, there was no notice left here at my home to tell me as much that it was disconnected. I explained everything. She took info on me and told me it wouldn't be turned on until Oct. 5th. I am 66 yrs old disabled and have health issues. This is now Sunday and I'm very upset I have to sit here in a damp chilly house for 5 days and I had done my part but I was dropped for whatever reason. This is unacceptable. I feel someone needs to be held accountable. Thank you! Sincerely, ***********************. By the way I did cancel AHS and got my money back.

Have budget plan since I signed up with Columbia Gas..the amount would be higher than budget amount. some months. Now, re-evaluated plan as of August, with an increase of $30.00 per month. $62.00 jumped to $92.00 per month!! Pretty bad for a 70 year old single person who eats salads most days, rather than use the gas stove, and showers every other day, and does 2 loads of laundry a week. Now I'm waiting to see if my basic charge is going to increase by $30.00 per month, as proposed. My bill would then be $120.00 a month. How will families survive the increased?Time to move to another company.
