My mother passed in December, our funeral director faxed all information to Encova to receive her life insurance claim. It wasn’t over ten thousand dollars it was just a small claim. Two weeks after claim was faxed I still heard nothing. I called them. They said they never received the fax but the funeral director has confirmation stating it was successfully sent. I in turn ended up resending a fax and an email in the middle of January with confirmation saying it was sent successfully. A week went by still nothing. I ended up mailing them the form and copies of what they require for this claim. (All the info I faxed) I again contacted them and now they are saying pending. Here it is February 5th, my mother passed December 21st 2023, and I’m still waiting on receiving this claim which we need to finish paying off her funeral bill. It was hard enough dealing with the death of my mother and now having this issue with her small life insurance claim. We are not very pleased with this company and my mother was faithful at paying her monthly premiums and they are not at all good at sending us her claim when we need it.Encova Insurance Response

This is the worse company ever I'm on work comp and they owe me money and won't give it to me and I have to fight with them every week to try and get my money, I really hope this place goes out of business so they can stop scamming peopleReview from Daniel K

I was hurt on Nov.3. I have yet to hear anything from this company. They sent me a letter stating to call after 14 days done that. Call multiple times a week. **** ******** is never in the office or calls me back. Ever her supervisor does not respond. I live paycheck to paycheck. I'm 2 months behind in my bills and nobody in this company seems to care. The worst company I have ever dealt with or tried to deal with. I strongly recommend a different insurance compnay.Encova Insurance Response

Very unhappy with this insurance company!! I have hail damage to my roof . Everyone in my neighborhood is getting a new roof !! I made a claim and they sent out a 3rd party under trained kid to do the inspection. He said no hail damage. I appealed the out come and asked for a professional instructor and I was told NO !!! The supervisor told me that we would just have to agree to disagree!! Very unpleasant way to be treated!!! Not out for the costumer at all !! Very unhappy !!!!Encova Insurance Response

Extremely frustrated. We had significant damage to our roof in the recent windstorms and our Encova Adjuster, ***** ******** is not reviewing or even accepting detailed evidence. Our contractor sent pictures and video showing the lack of repairability during the attempted repairs. ******* immediate response was all evidence "has been reviewed" and "we must maintain our scope of verified required wind damage repairs". We know this not to be true as the video specifically showing the lack of reparability was never viewed . (This was sent as a private link therefore showing how many views it has had, that number was 0). I am requesting this matter be escalated as his actions are negligent at best and malicious at worst.Encova Insurance Response

Encova has refused to cover the hail damage to our roof. 4 separate contractors have told us we have hail damage and we have a hail report showing hail in the area. We have asked for a reinspection by an actual adjuster. They sent out a subcontracted inspector the first time. They continue to refuse to reinspect. Encova claims that our roof is old, has manufacturing defects abs improper installation. If this is true we were unaware and Encova still chose to insure our roof. It also doesnt negate the hail damage. Hail damage denial is standard practice but so is a reinspect. We will not use Encova again. We have cancelled all policies with this company. My car had been totaled from a mistake a mechanic made at a local business. Envova insurance were the ones in charge of Handling our claim. The only contact I received from them was a returned call, and it was only my name and claim number. I know my name and the claim number, I left it when I called the agent. No one I've called actually answered their phone so just messages would be passed back and forth. After about 5 weeks we finally get in contact with someone where his excuse was "sorry the holidays have slowed things up around here". Yes the holidays create stress for my family as well so we lost our car but it only matters that your work day is inconvenienced but not how it affects me and my family's life. We finally get to the 2nd person in total loss the department, then she tells us with certainty that our car is no longer at the auto garage that is has been for 2 months now. We drive out of our way to take a picture of the car still in the parking lot. No one has been helpful with our issue and they make it very apparent they do not want to pay this claim out. We are now driving a rental car which I do not think they are going to cover. If this had been taken care of weeks ago then this would not be an issue. We have added another 500$ expense to us because of encova. I still have the voice-mail on my phone so they can claim they made contact with me in relation to this claim. Bad things happen I have no issue with the mechanic who made a mistake with my car. The only issue is how it was handled with encova.Review from Dean H

Encova denied my claim for auto damage caused by their insured. 1/20/21 - The road rage incident occurred. The result: Encova's insured was cited for Reckless Driving - Endangering Safety by the officer at the scene. I was free to go. No citation at all. My car sustained damage and a claim was filed. I contacted Encova multiple times to inquire on the status of my claim and was told that their insured was not responding to their attempts to reach him.5/25/21 - I finally received a letter from Encova stating that they had completed their investigation and that my claim was denied because they did not feel their insured was legally liable for the damage to my car. I responded that I disagreed with their finding and asked for a definition of legally liable.7/12/21 - I received an email from Encova stating that they based their decision on the fact that their insured had not received a Reckless Driving - Endangering Safety citation but that he had received a speeding ticket. Turns out that on 6/30/21 their insured made a deal with the Assistant District Attorney (for what exactly I don't know) and as a result his charges were reduced.However, Encova had "completed their investigation" a month before the deal with the *** was made and while the Reckless Driving - Endangering Safety charge still stood. So I fail to see how their insured wasn't found legally liable for the damage to my car based on the timing of the completion of their investigation.Yes, I disputed the findings again. Yes, they offered not even half of what it would cost to repair my car, (not satisfactory to me - I declined) but that does not change the fact that their insured caused the damage as was determined by the police officer on the scene. Did Encova listen to the 9-1-1 call made by wife, who was a passenger during the incident? Did they hear the fear in her voice and how upset she was? I have held a CDL for over 15 years. I am not a reckless driver. I did not cause the damage to my car. Encova's insured caused the damage and I expected them to do the right thing. Do Encova's actions in this matter really sound like those of a BBB highly rated company? I have tried every avenue to prevent dealing with this in the courts (something my wife and I have never been involved in before and really don't wish to start), but I am finding Encova's lack of a fact-based response in denying my claim very frustrating.
