R.N. Smith installed a new Heat Pump and my wife and I have had to have R.N. Smith out 3 times to repair a wire nut. My wife attended to all of these service calls. The 1st one R.N. Smith sent a service tech. to see why my control panel screen was flashing outside service. The 1st service tech. finally figured out the 1 small wire nut was loose and he tightened it and charged us and went on his way. This issue happened again and my wife called again and a second service tech came and could not figure out the problem and my wife said she showed him what the 1st tech repaired and that was the issue again. We were charged a 2nd time for this. This issue just came up a 3rd time and my wife commented to me that she thought it was probably the same wire nut again and at this point I wanted to see for myself what was going on and when i went out and looked behind my Heat Pump, the wiring was hanging out in the open exposed to the weather and animals hitting it since I live in the country by woods. I took a picture of the wiring at that time and asked my wife if the wires had been hanging out the other 2 times and she said yes. I called R.N. Smith and reported this to them and that this was the 3rd time this has happened and that the wiring should not be outside of unit and exposed. The lady that I talked to said she would have a 3rd tech. come and fix it again. The 3rd tech tightened the wire nut, taped it, and pushed the wires back into the unit and now it looks like it should. The tech. noted on his service report that he rewired unit which was a previous repair and that he taped and concealed the wires. He then charged us again for this call. I called R.N. Smith to complain about getting charged a 3rd time and was routed to their service manager who I tried explaining to him about the wiring job and he came right back to me (Well Sir, we only have a 30 day parts warranty) and I am sorry but this should not go into that category. I got upset and Manager said I'm done.
