Requested an estimate on multiple wood burners at our farm house in late August. After waiting 2 weeks for an estimate, I contacted the company and was told we are working on it!No problem. I get an email on September 19 from ********, the owner, that she had a few questions and to give her a call. (We are now 3 weeks past our initial inspection date). I call her that day, answer her questions, and she informs me she will have my estimates over immediately.Another week goes by, and I call again. ******** insists she was looking at something else and would send it that day. I call the following day (September 28) and receive an estimate dated back from 9/9/22.My wife and I take some time to consider, and I contacted them on 10/17/22 to approve the one estimate. Im told they would need to update it. Ok, no problem. Again, I wait several days and finally receive it where they now want nearly $2,000 more than the original estimate. Their initial response states we had price increases on October 1.I call in questioning the increase AND why no one made me aware of the increase coming on 10/1 the day they sent me the estimate (9/28 - just 3 days before). I wouldve approved it immediately and got them going on it.Instead, *****, informs me that its normal for them to take a month to do 1 estimate because they have to research the codes.In addition, ***** admitted they knew the increases were coming, yet they never mentioned it. But read their contract - Prices are subject to change without notice. No refunds on deposits. In essence, theyll scam you to get a deposit, then magically have these increases they dont need to notify you about and can charge what they please.I know they are one of very few companies in their specialty, but I HIGHLY advise you all to research and use ANY other company before settling for these people.

We asked Buckeye Stoves to come see what needed to be done to repair our wood-burning stove. Two representatives came, looked all around, then told us we needed to pay an $139.43 estimate fee before their office would give us the estimate. They left us with a copy of their report from which an estimate would be figured.We had not been told about the estimate fee in advance. We paid it, looking forward to receiving our estimate. We were told the person who did estimates was on vacation. She contacted us after her return and assured us she was preparing our estimate. We have contacted Buckeye Stoves several times; they sent us a copy of the report left with us by the representatives, but no estimate.We have since had the problem resolved but have not received the $139.43 refund we have asked for. We never received an estimate. They no longer respond to our emails or telephone messages.Thank you for your help!*** and *********************
