BBB Congratulated the 2017 Central MA Awards for Marketplace Excellence Winners

Better Business Bureau of Central New England is pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 Central Massachusetts Awards for Marketplace Excellence. The awards recognize local businesses that encompass BBB's mission to ensure that our marketplace remains trustworthy and honorable. They also uphold a strong commitment to their customers, employees and community and value their reputation in their industry. The ceremony, held at The Manor in West Boylston on November 8th, recognized the awards winners, finalists and accreditation milestones. 

"Our goal with the Marketplace Excellence Awards program is to convey to the entire business community that upholding the Better Business Bureau's ethical standards is the mark of a successful and competitive company" said Rick Powell, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the BBB of Central New England. "When it comes to establishing a sense of trust, these companies excel on all levels."      

good as gold coffeeThe winner of the small business category, Good As Gold Coffee of Worcester, was established in 1970 and has been a BBB Accredited Business since 1993.Good As Gold Coffee  has the belief that if a company lives and acts according to the promises that they make to their customers, then that company will be a success to their employees, customers and the community.


Fords HometownFord's Hometown Services  is the winner of the mid-sized business category. They have been operating locally since 1941 and have been a BBB Accredited Business since 1987.  Ford's Hometown Services has been family owned and operating in Worcester for three generations. Throughout those years, the importance of positive customer and community relations has been cemented in all that they do.

commerce bankThe winner of the large business category is Commerce Bank of Worcester.  Since 1955, Commerce Bank has had a single mission: to support the growth and vitality of communities in Central Massachusetts.  Strong supporters of area non-profits and social service organizations, you will often find them out in the market, engaging and supporting our local community. 

Awardees were selected following a rigorous judging process. All entries were evaluated by an independent panel of judges based on the following criteria: 
  • Commitment to their customers.
  • Commitment to their employees.
  • Reputation in the business' industry.
  • Commitment to the community that they do business in.
