My daughter was there for 3 months. These were the last three months of school. I would ask how she was doing emotionally and school. I was always told she was doing fine. When she was discharged 2 weeks before the end of school because of issues that had come up, I found out that she had only 4 School assignments completed out of 180 assignments. At the end of her 2 weeks there I had her switched to another Counselor, because the counselor that she did have Mark made me feel guilty for wanting to know how she is doing and then he wanted to share everything with her Dad and nothing with me. They have done a poor job of getting back with me on the school issue at hand. I Still need more information of what’s going to happen with her schooling and if she is going to go to the next grade or not. I entrusted my daughter was doing her schoolwork there and obviously they were not keeping her on task. When I asked what they were doing she said that they were doing their nails. My daughter also shared with me that they had a new girl there watching over them that slammed open doors and yelled at the kids. They have had a big turn over rate of staff. When I asked my daughter about not being at Mind above Matter she said that she would die. They were not teaching her skills for not being at the facility, she developed a tic while at Mind above matter and then when I brought it up to her counselor all of a sudden they went away. There are many others things that has happened but I think from what I have shared you get the just of this facility. I would not by any means recommend this facility to anybody’s child. There are others places out there.
