After multiple times of warding off efforts to grossly overcharge me when I visited STRIC on ********, twice in the last 30 days I have been denied care because of their train wreck of a system to verify amounts to be paid & getting the info the front desk staff. The first time, the benefits and **** was verified by '***', the guy in charge of doing so during the first week of January, but the system apparently was not informed because ********** got texts on Friday before our Monday appts. that they had 'problems verifying insurance' and don't come w/o calling and verifying we have done so. Totally bogus. Could not get thru to speak w/a human. Appt remade for a month after original benefits check, and the guy had never rechecked them. Meanwhile, deductible had been met for one of us. Desk folks had 'to go with what *** gave us' despite all my info the contrary that the number was totally wrong. NO way to fix it, *** not reachable for hours. By the time he did call, having the procedure was not possible as it was so late. My payment for procedure should have been around $6 instead of over $200 they wanted. Be aware!! Visiting this location is hazardous to your health. Not only do you not get the care ordered, but it's EXTREMELY stressful. No excuse for this mess. And if I had paid it, the other posts verify what I suspected: It would be months before getting the $ back. They want the $ before they touch you, but drag their feet on returning overcharges. This after years of visiting STRIC with NO billing issues. Get your act together, STRIC! And no one wants to take responsibility. If they (***) are unable/unwilling to provide correct info for charges to front desk, then provide an alternate method of checking info when the patient tells you the info is dead wrong. And allow for the possibility (in this case very true!) that some of us know way more about our insurance situation than you do.
