I booked a stay at the Super 8 through ******** Travel for August *****, 2022. I was on vacation from ********. I arrived at the hotel a little after 1:00 a.m. on August 19, 2022, the next day, because my flight was canceled on Southwest so I had to take a later flight through Delta. I was at the hotel less than 6 hours before I checked out. My chief complaint is for false advertisement and health endangerment. The Super 8 Hotel is clearly a transient motel and is not designed to people vacationing. More importantly, in addition to the sewer water dripping from the ceiling in the hall and the distinctive smell of urine permeating through the motel, the strong smell of cigarette smoke, along with the other smells, caused me to have respiratory issues. The Super 8 Hotel is NOT a smoke free environment as the hotel advertises. This is the main reason that I had to switch hotels. My choice was to stay at the Super 8 and risk further respiratory problems or to leave after being there for just a few hours. ******** Travel should remove this hotel from its hotel choices since it participates in false advertisement and I should receive a full refund for my stay and monetary compensation from the hotel for putting my health at risk. I have pictures of the hotel/room and pictures of the bedsheet in my room with cigarette ***** on it which I have attached. Evidence that smoking does go on in the hotel rooms.
