I think this is a scam along with management company. My bill more than doubled in December while i worked out of town and home on weekends only. Gas heat, not much changed with gas but electricity 400?? No way! 1 day late a d there is a huge penalty, over 500 for the bill with another late charge if not paid ttomorrow then they attempt to charge your bank or credit cards before sending it to managem we nt company for another penalty. I paid it but will not lease from prperty management company with simplebills again they really should be investigated thoroughly for their business practices and high managem we nt fees!I tried to explain i just had surgery and unable to finish because they just talk over you. And if questioned about the increase they say it was due to weather. Hum, my gas charges didnt go upSimpleBills Response

I moved out of a property that used simple bills 4 months ago and simple bills still attempts to charge my card and sends me utility bills when Im no longer reside in the home They are a scam and will never reside in a property that uses a 3rd party for utilities. Their billing system doesnt make sense and is borderline predatory . After one day they attempt to draft a payment from wateva credit or debit card on fileSimpleBills Response

I agree with everything below. This company is the opposite of simple bills. Overcharged my daughter and her roommate for four months. Her bills were five times what the average for the building was. When we would try to resolve it, they would say things like, maybe there is something wrong with a meter, or "Perhaps your roommate takes long showers." The bills were far more expensive than my five-bedroom house in the mountains. She had a thousand dollar electricity bill in December. The next month when they corrected it the charge was $71. My daughter is moving at the end of the semester because we refuse to have her in an apartment that uses this company.SimpleBills Response

My daughter stays in an apartment off campus along with a roommate. They were both gone home during Thanksgiving and Christmas break, but Simplebills charged them both almost $300.00 each for gas, water, electricity etc. but neither one of them were in their apartment. They each have their own bedroom and bathroom and share a common area Kitchen and Livingroom area neither of which. is hardly ever utilized. They apparently, they are double charging because my daughter's utilities have been paid on time since she moved in there in August. How do you go from paying $68.00 to $278.00 each and they were in the apartment less time? Something needs to be done with this company. I have a whole house and my utilities are nowhere in the ballpark of $600.00. Keep in mind, my daughter and her roommate both pay an amount, not $278.00 divided by two!!!!!!SimpleBills Response

As many others have stated this is actually a 0-star review. This company manipulates payments in order to put people behind and makes being financially responsible difficult. I do not get my bill on a monthly basis unless I email them and harass them to send me my bill. Getting a bill from 3 months prior added on with no warning is common. Collecting 2+ months worth of bills and sending them out at once is common. BUT DON'T WORRY BECAUSE YOU CAN EASILY JUST GET INTO THEIR DEBT SOLUTION SYSTEM AND PAY IT OFF OVER TIME. I have told them ****x at this point that I will pay the bill in full when sent. Fortunately, I am not struggling to the extent that so many Americans are. However, I still find it ridiculous that I can't have peace of mind knowing that my bills are caught up. I have said it directly to their customer agents time and time again. This company provides one service, To forward bills to customers. How can a company provide one single thing and fail so miserably at it? Typically a business has a system or process in place prior to opening up for business. This company has been open for years and still can't figure out the basics of how to operate. In a world of AI and automation they are still incapable of creating a script that automatically collects and forwards bills as they come in. This means the company is so cheap that they won't hire someone to figure this piece out. This company would serve its community better if they closed up and never reopened. Stop s******* people over. Fix your problems or sell to someone with the slightest bit of common sense and understanding of whatever type of business you would classify yourself as. Wish I could rate them zero stars. Simplebills charged my card for $400 two weeks before the due date. They also hit me with a late fee even though it was not even close to being late. The customer service rep admitted it was a mistake on their end but was rude and argumentative so I asked for a supervisor. He said theyre not available but someone would call me back within an hour but they didnt call until the next day. I explained the hardship this created and asked them to do something to make it right. She said she had to go to her boss then get back to me later that day. Never heard from her again. A day or two later a different supervisor called and had no idea that someone else had already called. Explained everything to her as well and she said the same thing and promised I would hear back soon about a resolution. Of course I never heard from her again either. The most frustrating part is my landlord, Conrex requires that we use this ridiculous service and it is one of the reasons we will not renew our lease. Im still very angry but I have accepted that this is a terrible company that will never make things right so all I can do is move to a new house and be done with them.SimpleBills Response

I agree that one star is really a zero star review. My son has been living in an apartment for going on 2 years. The complex in ******, ** makes him and roommates use SimpleBills for some reason. Last year, except for the $60 annual fee (what the heck is that for?) the bills were about $15 for each of the four, so around $60.00 for the apartment. This year has been a nightmare since two of the roommates moved out and left the other two with the whole bill. We agreed how that was reasonable, but now, my son is telling me that his apartment with 3 roommates is being charged nearly $200 split between them. My **** sq. ft. house bill through TXU was only $178 in the summer! This is highway robbery. I will be asking to see usage and cost per kwh from them and/or the apartment, and if I am refused, perhaps a small lawsuit will help them become transparent. I'm sure that SimpleBill's parent company RealPage doesn't want another predatory lawsuit. I may see what our investigative news station can find out about this too. Seems like the problem is quite large and may need to be aired out in a national fashion. We will be looking for another complex who does not use them.SimpleBills Response

We also provide full visibility to each bill in PDF form to your Simplebills account. This is available to be viewed under the My Bill tab on your Simplebills account.
$60 on your son's account is our upfront annual service fee. In order to pay for our service, you'll see a SimpleBills ************** Fee on the first SimpleBill you receive from us. Paying the ************** Fee has its perks. After your first invoice, you won't have to pay to use our service each month. This way, your monthly invoice only reflects your utility charges along with any other services from us that you've opted-in for such as credit reporting and more.

Terrible Company my apartment complex basically forced us to switch to simple bills and my bill has NEVER been this high. They are charging me Double what my bill is. I work as a traveling nurse and am out of the state for weeks at a time so I know I did not rake up an almost $200 electric bill. Then they charge you a $5 a month fee to even use the stupid app. This is just one of the many reasons I will not be renewing my lease at The Landing. Also if you dont pay it by the date they automatically try and take it out of your account anyways. Do not recommend this company, would also advise to stay away from apartment complexes that use simple bills. Simplebills is a scam.SimpleBills Response

If I could give them zero stars I would. My roommates and myself were over and double charged for **** and July of 2023. Both of these months all three of us were not living in the apartment so our "average" amount of utilities were not used. I was told I would be receiving a refund 30 days after my lease ended but almost 2.5 months and many many phone calls later we have seen no refund and have been dealing with rude customer service. I have been told, over many different phone calls, information that contradicts the contract I signed. Not only that but now I am being told there are documents that must be filled out within a certain deadline (14 days after our lease ended) in order to receive the refund which is much earlier than the 30 days I was initially told, this deadline is also not in the contract. My roommates have also been in contact with Simple Bills and have similar results receiving information that contradicts our contract, is the opposite of what other people in the company are saying, or is just plain lies. I am incredibly frustrated with the false information and customer service. I would never recommend ********************** to anyone.SimpleBills Response
