      I highly discourage anyone trying to buy a brand new bike from buying at Brittons Bicycle Shop. You are way better off buying online or at another store. The customer service and treatment from the owner ***** is mediocre at best. It is a shame that they represent respectful brands such as ******* and other high-end bicycle brands.Back in April 2021, when I decided to buy a ******* Oltre XR3, I chose Brittons because it was the only store in *********** that sells ******* bicycles. As a birthday present my family put a deposit of $2000 towards my ******* bicycle. In April, I decided to go to the store and place an order paying 100% of the cost of the bike ($4500+tax). ******* was the one that sold the bike to me. When I purchased my bicycle, ******* promised me that he would keep me posted on the bike's arrival, which never happened.Given that the pandemic had affected the availability of bicycles worldwide, I knew it would probably take a while. However, I never heard back from anyone from Brittons to update me on my order. I had to call almost every month for four months straight to check on the order. The bike never arrived in those four months, so I decided to look for other options somewhere else and found a bike at another store, which delivered the bike in 10 days. I proceeded to cancel my order at Brittons, and since Brittons failed to complete my order, I expected a full refund of my deposit. When I went to get my deposit back, ***** was extremely rude to me, almost offended that I would not buy the bike from them. He asked me if anyone at the store had let me know that they would give me a bike that I could use while the ******* I had ordered arrived, and I told him that over the four months of me calling, nobody informed me of that. I told him I wanted the majority of my deposit back and that they could keep some of the money for a fitting and other equipment that I wanted to buy, and he proceeded in telling me that he didnt want to keep any of it. However, he did end up keeping about 3% of my deposit, according to him, a non-refundable credit card fee. However, nowhere on the receipt from my deposit stated that they would keep a credit card fee if a cancellation occurred. It was evident that ***** was upset about me cancelling my order and buying a bike somewhere else.I am very glad that I did not buy my bike from Brittons. After several years of buying equipment for myself and my family from Brittons and recommending the store to others, I will make a point to never shop at Brittons again and to recommend to all my friends and acquaintances to avoid buying anything from them. ***** has taken for granted his customers and forgotten the basic principles of providing good customer service and proper communication.
