      Dont rely on a quality review!!My wife and I used ******* for our tax returns for a few years. Although I always thought *************** charged way too much (over $1000) to do our return, we believed that we were getting good quality service. We always try to get the documents to them early because they seem to take forever to get our returns completed, but again, we felt that if they were doing good quality service that we would tolerate it.When our 2020 return was filed after the *** due date, we were less than pleased to say the least. We figured we would give them one more chance, on our 2021 return, to get everything correct. Well, we feel we made a huge mistake in that decision. After again taking way too long to get our return done, my wife and I spent about three (3) hours each reviewing our return for mistakes. The biggest mistake we found caused our return to have an amount due to *** of over $5000, but after they had to correct the error (that WE discovered), the amount due to *** dropped to a little over $3000. Therefore, if we would not have discovered THEIR error, we would have paid over $2000 more than we needed to.Our invoice indicated that we paid for someone to review our return before getting it to us. I then asked *************** for a discount to our invoice since we paid for a review that obviously didnt discover the errors and he refused to discount any amount whatsoever. We had always paid (by check) for our service AFTER our returns were filed, however, since ********** appeared to believe we would not pay for the service, he wrote an email stating that he would file it AFTER we paid him. I feel that he was holding our return hostage and trying to extort money from us to get it filed. I am also planning on filing a complaint with the *************************************** due to his actions. and we paid the invoice even though we believe it was unjust.

      ***********, deployed in this matter its common process for delivering to the client a draft of the tax return, which was prepared using information provided to us, and requesting the client direct to us any questions or concerns. This client directed to us a question about one line entry on a tax schedule. Upon further investigation, a correction was necessary. All clients are encouraged to convey income details on a tax organizer provided to them at no cost. The absence of such organizers, as was the case with this client, may occasionally result in corrections to drafted tax returns that are prepared replying on information from clients in somewhat haphazard documentation. This client also provided new details that conflicted with his original documentation of income provided to us. That resulted in an additional adjustment to the drafted tax return.Lastly, this client expressed another concern about a typographical error, which was of no consequence to the income reported on the tax return and the tax calculated thereon.All of his concerns were addressed at no additional cost and the tax return was filed in a timely fashion.

      Notice the comment from ******************* firm stating that a correction was necessary. When my wife asked him what procedures were done in the review, he refused to answer her e-mail. I am guessing the review is somewhat worthless since it didn't find the error which would have caused us to pay more than $2000 more than we were required to do. Our documents are ALWAYS provided in a very organized and meticulous manner and although their description of "haphazard" from "clients" is NOT how they received our documentation! Also, there was NO info that conflicted with previous information. The preparer took a number off another document and NOT off of the **** form. ...and I guess typographical errors are no biggie to *******.
