If you value your time away, your sanity and your money you will not rent from this company. DISGUSTING, BROKEN DOWN, RUN DOWN. Customer service only gives lip service, they do absolutely nothing. Don’t waste your precious holiday time here. Thank goodness we weren’t here long! Carpet so dirty you can’t walk barefoot. Can’t make coffee in a moldy disgusting coffee maker, which is the cheapest piece of garbage. Speaking of garbage, there isn’t even a garbage container in the kitchen- just a single bag draped over the cabinet door… speaking of cabinets- filthy, marred, broken. Kitchen faucet busted. Entry door has no doorknob, just the key pad- and the code didn’t work and never has- try closing and locking a door without a doorknob- insane. There isn’t anything to wash dishes with- a brush or sponge- nothing. One roll of TP for a 3 bedroom. Stained and chipped furniture. Steer clear!Review from Caroline S

We paid good money for a beautiful new home to rent in Orlando for our annual anniversary trip to Epcot. Our first night we were greeted by cockroaches in the middle of the night. The entire weekend until 7:30pm loud construction and 2 doors down was screaming in the pool all night. The whole weekend we fought off German cockroaches. I reached out to management, and they said to send exterminator, but we already left the premises. All of our luggage was filled with roaches! It took 2 days to rid them of our luggage before we could bring our items inside!!!!! I called them after departure to let them know and the very next day they added a charge of $30.00 to my credit card for "blood" on a pillowcase and on a blanket. I received a picture but there is no absolute proof. I asked them to supply more than that photo for proof and they did not. No one in my party "bled" the entire time! Our sheets were washing in the washing machine when we left because that's what they asked of us. I have already tried to have them remove the charge and they refuse!!!!! Tropical escape offered no compensation or even admitted to roaches. This is a brand new home!!!!!!Review from Arman s

Worst company i universe. Stay away if you care about your money. Unprofessional, unethical and illegal activities. They will cancel you and refuse refund. Stay way from this firm. This trip was a vacation for my senior citizen father, senior citizen father-in-law, my husband, and our 11-year-old son. It was by far the worst travel experience we have had. ******* ******, managed by Tropical Escape, is far from a resort First, we know we booked a unit with a king-size bed in the master, two twins in the 2nd BR., and a pull-out. This was not the case, as both bedrooms had full-size beds. I was even sure to call and verify the bed configuration the day before our arrival. Upon entering the unit, we called, and the "inspector" came. She texted someone who shared that this was a 3rd party reservation and nothing could be done about it. We then called the company we booked with, and they said it was the rental company's error to fix. Needless to say, 2 hours later and our issue was not addressed by anyone. Since the unit only had four blankets and towels, we asked for two more of each, but THEY NEVER CAME! We tried to make the best of a very bad situation by walking around the property to check out the amenities. The problem is that there are none. The only thing available is a pool. The website is VERY misleading because this property is not a resort and shouldn't be presented as one. We asked for someone to call us when we checked out, and we're still waiting!Review from Tiara B

DoNot book with the vacation rental property. Beyond terrible. We had no covering over drain in the shower (safety hazard)water stayed in tubs following showers, dirty kitchen chairs, wobbly,loose leg on chair (another safety hazard). Nasty used face cloth and used soap left in the master bedroom, dirty carpet, scuffed up walls. Even after having pictures of this and sending an initial email about my concerns. The property management charades my card an additional $150 for stained chairs that was like that upon arriving. Also on day 2 we were locked out of our home and suggested to keep banging up against the door to get in because the maintenance person was an hour away from our property!! Who's fault is that? With as many homes located in this area and being a holiday weekend, one would assume there would be a maintenance guy on standby nearby. Instead of assuring us that someone was on the way. I received several text of suggestion on how to get in the home instead of assuring me that someone was coming to help. Now let's go back to the drain issue and the chair. This was reported on last Wednesday night via email. Nobody can out to assess or fix this until 3 days later. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. THE SAFTEY AND CONCERNS OF THEIR RENTERS ARE NOT A PRIORITY.Review from Candice M

If I could pick "-0" as a star, I would. My family and I stayed at one of the Tropical Escape Vacation Homes, ***************************, FL, at the Solterra Resorts, to be specific. From day one, we ran into major safety, cleanliness, appearance, and inoperable appliance issues! Upon checking in, the POOL GATE was broken. My 3-yr old nephew almost ran and jumped into the pool. We reported it and they did come fix it, but told us not to bother it, as it would break again. Second, the pictures that they lost on the VRBO website is not what we got. The patio area was UNKEPT, including broken chair iron rods, no chairs (as seen on the VRBO site), only dirty folding chairs (NOT SEEN on the VRBO site), extremely long weeds growing from the broken cement on the ground, DEAD frogs and lizards around the pool area, pool lights and waterfall not working. Third, the kitchen stovetop microwave did not work. They did send out maintenance to replace. But still, they knew this. As they had a tiny countertop microwave as a substitute. Fourth, there were ROACHES all in the kitchen, especially around the dishwasher area. We had to by two Raid foggers just to fumigate the area. The freezer did NOT work (and still doesn't). We reported this issue, and it still didn't get fixed. All of the frozen food that we purchased was a waste, as it melted in the freezer. The pillows on the sofa, the actual sofas, and bed linen were filthy consisting of blood, coffee, dirt, other unknown stains, and the sofa cushions overall just looked like they had been lounged on or played on. Outlets in bedrooms and some TVs did not work. Kids bathroom toilet seat completely broken, kids sink in bathroom did not drain. Hair on bed linen. Huge SNAKE at doorstep, in which we almost stepped on. A number of other things as well! I spoke to the GM, Kellyanne, and she o my offered $145 reimbursement. Completely unacceptable. As of today, I escalated my complaints to the exec team, and just waiting to hear back.Review from Solmaz G

my family and I use vacation home rentals for all of our vacation and are very satisficed HOWEVER, Tropical Escape Resort Homes is absolutely horrible. they have the worse customer service as they d not even call back or email back. On our check in day we were not able to get into the home. we were not provided the key until after. the pool table was broken, half of the blinds in the Livingroom were missing, I had to go through the house an vacuumed, the light in the upstairs bathroom was hanging down help by wire. they send a maintenance guy on our last day late afternoon to fix a few of the things, yet the pool table which was the reason we picked that specific home and paid an extra $100 for we were not able to use. Do not rent from them. there are so many other once out there that will value you as a customer, give them you business but stay away from Tropical Escape Resort Homes. after disputing and requesting a refund, they were quick to reply to those emails and lied and said that they responded within 24 of our request which is an absolute lie and I have all the emails and screen shot of the calls made to them. also kept the pictures ads I am planning on fighting the charges due to not providing me what they advertised and causing me to not haver a relaxed vacation time. what they don't understand is that people will not just make false comments on their customer service and poor property management skills. please save yourself headaches and book through a different agency and stay far away from them.Review from Darice H

Do not rent from them and definitely do not rent ************************* FL, Champions Gate. Upon arrival to the home it was dirty, looked like it had not been cleaned at all. The furniture has white furniture so you would think the cleaning people would clean because it is white, not a chance. The white pleather/leather was so dirty and beat up. Electrical fixtures broken, no hot water, toilet seats disgusting, ants crawling, and worst of all roaches. I called Tropical Escapes several times, left messages and sent an email with pictures. They never returned my calls, they did send a maintenance person to fix the broken screen door and that was it. I had to physically go to their office, bang on the door 20 mins to speak with someone to ask for a refund for them to say they'll review my email. After review they said no refund because the damages and upkeep of the house was wear and tear over time. Even if that is true, the money these owners and companies make, you can make the necessary improvements. They are the worse Property Management company and need training on customer service and how to properly handle customer concerns and complaints. Very dismissive and unresponsive. Ms. *****, we sent someone to the home safe day we were notified by your booking agency to take a look at the electrical concerns and the hot water. The hot water was working perfectly fine, all the homes use an eco style hot water heater and as was explained when the technician was there, if too many people use hot water for too long the heater needs a little bit to cycle the water to be hot again, when he arrived to assist you all it was hot again, he also tightened up the outlet in question. Pest control was dispatched to assist with the pests. You did not book directly with us you booked through a 3rd party agency which is why you were directed to them in regards to your seeking of compensation. We responded to address as many of your issues as possible. The furniture was clean but does have some wear coloration, we do our best to replace furniture when the owner is able to do so. Please understand we take all guest concerns seriously and we work closely with your booking agency who had real time updates from us.Customer Response

The electrical socket was still broken on my day of checkout so they did not fix that. The gentleman fixed the pool screen door handle that was broken. Wear and tear and cleaning are two different things, and the house should be cleaned after every visit. I asked that someone come out and clean the home the night I checked in, lvm and that never happened. I did book through a third party who works with Tropical Escapes and I was informed when I contacted her that she only handles the reservations and receives a small commission. Tropical Escapes receives the payment and when she asked on my behalf for a full refund, Tropical Escapes said no because the house upkeep was routine wear and tear. Dirt, ants , and roaches is not routine wear and tear. Tropical Escapes is the worst Property Management company, they are taking people's money for services not as described which is fraud.
