I had a terrible experience with Max-Air they installed a complete air handling system for my family and we were new to the area. The new Air Conditioning system leaked from day One, it leaked freon badly and they blamed it on the old freon supply lines, but if they had made sure with a nitrogen pressure check to make sure their no leaks in the system, every certified air conditioning technician said this is something they should have caught from day one. One year later and 5 visits later my system still leaked after replacing both freon lines and the Owner told he could no longer fix my system for free, even though it never ran correctly without leaking freon this was the worst service I received in my lifetime. I learned the most important day of your Air Conditioning system is the installation day. I just replaced my system after 8 years with Coast to Coast Air Conditioning night to day in service they also had a leak with a part, but they guaranteed us his installation team would not leave until the system was running correctly with no leaks and they did exactly that. Max -Air should have made it right and did not or could not.

            08/11/2023

The statement above from Mr. ********* is not accurate. I have copied the last communication MAX-AIR Had with him on 03/28/2023: Dear Mr. *********, I have read your complaint as well as Pete’s response and I would like to address the issues for you. You and your wife have had a good professional working relationship through your journey with MAX-AIR and I hope this misunderstanding will not jeopardize that. I would like to clarify a few things. First of all, I have extended numerous courtesies to you from the very start. I have attached a copy of the original estimate that was sent to you and you agreed to. The first courtesy extended, was granting you to make payments for your new system. That is not something we normally do as it never has good outcome for MAX-AIR. The terms of that agreement were you put a down payment down and then would make monthly payments until the balance was paid off. Your history shows you did not fulfill that agreement as you made payments every 2 months and the final payment was to be made on or before April 8, 2015. You made your final payment on 5/3/2016. I did not charge you finance fees or late fees. I stuck to my end of the agreement. As to the repairs needed on your system, not all was equipment failure with the hvac system we put in. You had a freon line failure on 9/24/2015 and (1) freon line was replaced. You had another freon line failure in the 2nd line on 4/28/2016. Those items are not part of the installation we did. That was your existing equipment as outlined in the estimate you agreed to. On both occasions, we gave you free freon and service calls even though legally we were not obligated to. The next repair was a defrost board, which the part was covered under labor and all you paid was labor. That was on 01/27/2022, (7) years after the system was installed. On 03/10/2022, we replaced the evaporator coil under warranty again (7) years after the installation of the system. On 9/7/2022 we replaced the capacitor under warranty almost (7.5) years after the installation of the new system. We credited that bill as a courtesy again to you. On 01/4/2023 you paid to have the piston cleaned and the filter drier replaced, (8 years ) after the system was installed. We again, credited you the diagnostic fee to help you out. As far as bad installation f the system, I can assure you that is not the case. The system was inspected by The Marion County Building Department’s Certified Inspectors shortly after the installation and it passed with no issues. If it were a lemon of a system or a bad installation, you would not have gotten (8) years of service on this system. We are not the manufacturer’s of this equipment, only the dealer. We have done everything possible to stand behind the equipment we sold you to the cost to MAX-AIR at times. We strive to do Good Business. As far as no one ever knowing what was wrong with your system, is an unfair assessment as we diagnosed the issue every time and provided in detail what the issues were and what needed to be done to rectify the situation. As far as having your son travel far distances or your neighbor out of the kindness of his heart, give you free freon, that was your decision to bring them into your personal situation. We too gave you free freon, free labor and free costs on carrying your note. I am at an unfair advantage as I cannot say what your neighbor said or what your son’s opinion is. What I know is we have done everything humanly possible and legal to satisfy you and your issues at the detriment to MAX-AIR. I really hope you would reconsider your allegations and see the events as for what they really are. With Sincere Respect, Christina ******, Vice President MAX-AIR Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.
