              On Friday, February 3rd, I dropped off my car at the Ford dealership in Blythe CA in order to finally correct an issue caused by a recalled part under my hood. I picked up my car, Wednesday, Feb. 8th under the impression my car was fixed and there would be no more problems. However, on Feb. 17th, the brakes started malfunctioning on the freeway 123 miles away from Blythe. Because I was out of town, I could not go to the Blythe dealership. I was able to see a recommended mechanic on Monday, the 20th. He found that the brake hose has been mis-routed and a hole has been burned into the hose leading to the faulty breaks. Had I let it go any longer, the hose would have broken apart and the breaks wouldn’t have worked at all. I contacted Ford customer services and they said they would not reimburse me the money I paid out of pocket for this fix because I didn’t take it to a Ford dealer. I wasn’t willing to risk putting others, or myself in danger, so I found a solution thinking it’s only logical that Ford acknowledge that the service provided could have caused injury and I would be reimbursed. I’m only looking for what’s fair. I’ve uploaded photos of the misrouted hose, the replacement hose and the correct routing of hose.
