The issue I have is with American Ambulance of ******, **. I believe they are over-charging me and they wont correct my bill. On 4/25/23 my daughter was transported from *********************** to **************** Hospital by American Ambulance. She had a laceration on her forehead. During the transport they took her vitals and loosely wrapped gauze around her forehead. That was the extent of care they provided to her. However, they are billing me for advanced life support, a base rate totaling $2,344. This seems unreasonable and downright wrong. Is there a basic life support base rate that should be used instead? I requested an itemized bill showing the services they provided, but they didnt send one. They simply sent the same bill showing the base rate. Also, according to the *** from Compass Health Administrators this charge exceeds the fee schedule/maximum allowable or contracted/legislated fee arrangement. This is also the case for the $441 ($49/mile) mileage charge. I havent paid anything towards the balance, because I mistakenly thought I had 12 months to pay and have been trying to find the right agency to help me dispute this bill. The first two agencies were the incorrect ones and couldnt help me. And now, without giving me notice of doing so which I believe is illegal in **********, American Ambulance has sent my bill to a collections agency. Lastly, a co-worker showed me a copy of her American Ambulance bill dated March 2022 which lists the same charge of Base ALSE ****** ******** but with an amount of only $1,890. I dont understand what the increase could be due to given gas prices have decreased and inflation is well below 24%. Will you please look into this? Thank you.
