    i got an Avia Dental plan in 2018 because I didn't have dental insurance. In June of 2020, my husband and I obtained dental insurance so we tried to cancel our Avia Dental plan. From there, it has been an awful experience. In order to cancel, you are required to send your paper cards back which we looked everywhere for an couldn't find. I asked if there was another way to cancel to no response. Then we were told if we didn't pay them we were going to be sent to collections. I then forwarded them our last email where we got no response and once again, we heard nothing back. Then they sent us a letter saying we were going to be sent to collections so we called and they said f we sent a letter saying we didn't have cards but wanted to cancel we would be fine so that's what we did and never hard back. Then last week, we got a call from collections saying they has sent us months before even though we had done everything they said.

    Please stay away from this company!! It is not worth the hassle!! Like the other comments, I had the same issue/problem. Now I am in collections. The only reason I found out about it was through Credit Karma. I got a notification that my credit score went down and that's where I saw that I was sent to collections. I have tried numerous times to cancel with them and was not successful. I did not have possession of the card because it was sent to my old address. I spoke to Tracy many times. She is very rude, unprofessional, and has bad customer service. Since I was sent to collections, she said there is nothing more they can do, it is not in their hands anymore and I now have to talk to the collection agency (which is not true depending on how the creditor lends off the debt) Tracy had the audacity to say it was not my first rodeo being sent to collections just because I said that. No, I know because my uncle works in that field so that was very unprofessional for her to say that. I called the collection agency and the person said that a lot of people complain about the same thing. So this company will keep charging you if you don't return the card and send you to collection. It is not fair to the consumer, but good thing is that there are laws that protect consumers' rights.
