In April of 2022 myself and my wife ***** purchased a 2015 ****** pathfinder from Auto hub Ltd. They are located at **** ****** road sw Calgary, ab T2g2z4 2x4
I believe the total amount was 16 thousand, which we were given a loan for from ******* auto finance and have been making two $160 payments twice a month for last year and a half no problem.
The problem is that the vehicle we purchased was sold to us illegally since it never had an out of Province inspection done on it from coming from *******.
About two weeks later I went to register the ****** and was told that they could not register the car until it received the out of province inspection.
We contacted Auto hub and they directed us to Beyond transmissions in forest lawn area of Calgary. The inspection revealed about two thousand dollars of repairs that were needed with the differential and a front link kit? After the work was done there was about $2000 of work done in the ****** ( which auto hub paid for), which was a vehicle they swore was in great working order weeks before.
I didnt read the paperwork report description at the time thinking all was good now and could finally start driving and enjoying my new expensive used car instead of all the hassles and time in the shop etc.
It never felt smooth but I just figured thats what 4 wheel drive vehicles felt like never having had one before.
In mid September 2023 it started feeling clunky and weird again and took it back to beyond transmissions for a test drive. They said that they believed thst the transmission was totally gone and for that particular year of 2015 ****** pathfinder was around 12 thousand dollars for a new transmission!!!
So I was budgeted and fine to make my $320 car loan payments for the remaining 3.5 years but do not have that kind of money to fix car.
I have been told that it is crazy to put a new transmission any car older than five years and this pathfinder is almost ten years old.
In the meantime we had to purchase another car for $2000 so we could move and take my kids to soccer and buy groceries etc.
When I asked for the print outs of the inspections and work done on the ****** the year before I was amazed to see two comments in the report stating there was clunking over bumps and humming noise at high speed coming from the transmission and another part where it says there was a whinning in transmission at higher speeds.
I can send you photos of this if you like?
When I contacted Auto hub they said that the person that did the inspection report was confused and meant something else not the transmission!! I believe Auto hub has had a secret talk with ******************* to tell them to change their story on our vehicle.
The auto now claim there is a different report that mentions none of the transmission problems and that it was our responsibility to investigate the crappy ****** transmission problems going on at ******.
I am not a car guy and trusted them with their 20 point ******* inspection saying the vehicle was fine working order and that a five year car payment made sense. I get brakes and fan belts going but an entire new engine after a year and a half. We only drove around downtown Calgary and a few trips to *****. We never pushed the transmission hard driving to ********** or ******* etc.
Since then a random car person came up
To me and said you know this vehicle has been in an accident!! He could tell because all the body pieces were not tight together from the factory anymore. He also said the passenger side had been repainted a slightly different black color.
I believe if I paid to get the vpm or vin number checked it would show that this vehicle was in an accident in *******. I also now believe that auto hub didnt do the out of province on purpose because it would of revealed it had been in an accident.
So now I am stuck with a $13 thousand dollar car loan on a destroyed vehicle that I can in no way afford to fix.
Let me know whats best as I feel this is very unfair and deceiving what has happened to us with Auto hub and possibly in cahoots with their recommended place *******************.
Thanks for your time.
Sincerely ******************************
