WARNING! I HAD A VERY EXPENSIVE EXPERIENCE WITH ALPHA PLUMBING. After reading a number of positive reviews I called Alpha about coming to fix our boiler system that was no longer heating the basement slab in our house. I should have focused on the negative reviews (which I later discovered), many about exorbitant pricing. Buyer beware really applies to this company. I was charged an average of $450 per hour for a 2.5 hour repair service (including call out travel time). Alpha feels their techs are so highly trained, experienced and efficient that $450/ hour is fair and appropriate for the service they did for me. I disagree, there are many highly trained, experienced and efficient techs out there whose labour wont be charged at those exorbitantly high rates. They applied their price gouging strategy successfully (you signed for it) to get the high rates they feel justified in charging me so naturally no $600 refund for me (as requested) to bring the bill more into line with a reasonable amount. My advice to others considering dealing with Alpha Plumbing is to look very carefully at the details on the tablet (if any) in their quote, before signing. If the answers and details arent there, dont sign, and dont proceed with the work. Dont assume, as I did, Alpha is being fair and reasonable. Assume the opposite. If you too find yourself gouged by Alpha Plumbing, file a complaint with Service Albertas Consumer Investigations Unit. Im not happy about having to take the time to deal with Alpha after my experience, write this review and file a complaint but hopefully this all helps to limit their price gouging so that others dont experience the financial pain of dealing with them. And dont be fooled by their song and dance comments that *** follow this review.

It's not often we get a negative review. Of course, not every customer can be satisfied, however we do our best and we work our absolute hardest for every single client we have.

I can tell a reply won't change your thoughts here, but I would like to weigh in. I have no interest in any "song and dance comments", just clarity for future consideration.

Firstly, our costs are our own - they are not set randomly or without great thought - and we cannot make changes based on what you believe the service you received was worth.

We welcome and value open communication, and our estimates are always exact. This means that when you sign your estimate(s), you are agreeing to pay the amounts set therein. We do not charge more when the work is finished, or if ************** takes longer than expected - our customers are not surprised by a different invoice once complete.

You are correct! We do recommend that every customer reads their estimate in full, including the terms and conditions, before accepting any work. Additional questions are usually brought up at that point, not after the work has been approved, signed for, completed, signed for again, and paid in full.
