Bow Valley Moving moved my home contents from ******* June 3 to ********** June 7. One of the items moved was a 7 foot ****** grand pianowhich they had assured me a number of times pre-move that they had experience and expertise in. While they were loading up the piano it became apparent to me that they were having difficultytaking more time than usually required and having extreme difficulty maneuvering piano out of the house and into the truck. I noticed several times the moving blanket exposing the piano and pointed this out to the movers. They seemed to be all fairly stressed and I frequently heard *** * **** from a couple of the movers. I was very nervous. The delivery to ********** was somewhat easier (the owner was present) but they appeared to again have more than the usual difficulty putting the piano back together. I noticed they had difficulty with the pedals and were not sure which leg went to which position (I had to tell them). The piano sustained body damage in 3 areasand owner is claiming responsibility for only one. Piano technicians in ********** and ******* both support that damage would have resulted from this particular move. The other problem was a shedding of minute fibres from their apparently brand new packing blankets which left a fine layer of black dust on everything. The owner saw this and acknowledged same and offered to cover cleaning expenses. To date these have not been completed yet but are scheduled. The owner appears to be implying that reconditioning costs to the piano are being claimed rather than damages as a result of this move.The owner has not replied directly to me and recent attempts from myself at phoning, texting, and emailing have been unanswered. The owner went from initially saying he would do whatever it took to make things right to deciding what he thinks he should take responsibility for. Initially owner very professional and courteous and willing to make things right. Not what Im experiencing now.
