As with any car purchase, we spent a significant amount of time negotiating and coming to agreement on a purchase of a KIA Sportage at Northland KIA. Once we put down $5000.00 as a purchase deposit, when all negotiations were over, that’s when Laurie decided to present us with warranty packages and other exterior options. This would impact our purchase price and should have been presented before purchase agreement. Laurie continues to show her incompetency by giving us the wrong vin number for us to register with our insurance. What would normally be a routine procedure took hours of our time to rectify due to her incompetency. The day we went to pick up our vehicle, after we transferred the registration of our trade-in vehicle, Laurie again presents us with the “free lifetime oil change” package. Josh the salesman touted and showcased the “free lifetime oil change” included in the car purchase. Nowhere did he say that in order to receive the “free oil change” we would have to pay $69.99 (and up) every 6000kms maintenance checks to ensure warranty validity. The sales people at Northland KIA are dishonest, incompetent, unforthcoming and unethical in their business conduct. Having purchased several vehicles here in Calgary, I have never felt so swindled and tricked at a car dealership purchasing a new car. Thank you to Darren (general sales manager) for returning our deposit back. Even at the very end Josh and Laurie had to stick it to my family by making it extremely difficult for us to reverse the vehicle registration. Caveat emptor - buyer beware!!!Review from David C

Went to Northland Kia to look ** *** ********* as heard it was a good car at a good value. The car is advertised at $52,000 on the Northland Kia website. They refused to sell the car for the asking price unless we agreed to a servicing package for $12,000. Basically oil changes for life. Other *** dealers charge around $2,500 for a similar package but include this in their advertised price. Clearly misleading advertising. Sales person didnt know anything about the car and didnt know the Prov and Fed regulations around false advertising.Review from Bonnie P.

I brought my sportage in because when I Accelerated my car would go in a safety mode and not let me drive over 20km. This would be the second time it happened in 2 weeks. I had to get my sportage towed to kia northland. When i was there i said my check engine light is on and I cannot have my RPM go over 3 as my car shuts down. so what do i have to fix so this doesn’t happen again, they fixed what I thought was the problem but apparently not. Before I could even drive off the lot the check engine light was on again, i went back in. 20-30 min later they said okay good to go. 2 days later I called because the check engine light was back on. The Receptionist left a message for the service manager to call me back which he never did. So today i called because not only has my light remained on since i called in February but now the 4wd Indicator light is on. The Receptionist was amazing and passed my concern on to yet again the service manager. Well he called me back and he was Argumentative, dismissive, he cut me off from talking, he was VERY Disrespectful. He told me it’s my fault because i never fixed what he said i needed done. I again tried with him over talking me to tell him i asked what needed to be fixed and that NO one said that i Immediately needed to fix knock sensor. I told him numerous times that he needs to D escalate the conversation but he became Immature and snotty in his tone like i was an idiot. He continued to tell me I didn’t do what i was told. He was gaslighting! Please be careful with this service manager as they will mess up your vehicle and then blame you for the issue.Review from Jason H.

Tried to purchase a car from them cash. I offered them their asking price plus tax. They declined my offer. Why? Because it didn't include their $700 admin fee plus it's taxes. Please tell me why I should have to pay $700+tax fir the pleasure of doing business with them?Review from Mark B

On May 18, 2020, I bought a 2014 Dodge Journey R/T from Northland Kia. I paid $13,753.86 for the journey, and with in 4 months had to have oil cooler filter mount and transmission done. I had to pay $105.00 for an oil cooler filter mount and in September the transmission went on me cost me $2,194.55. Had to have the vehicle towed back to Northland Kia. The Service manger said to me can exchange my vehicle for another SUV for the same price as mine. Told him couldn’t do that because didn’t know what wrong with mine. Also was thinking with the warranty, and financing could I do that. Service manger called me and told me needs a new transmission spoke about the cost, but he mentions nothing about another vehicle. After getting my SUV fixed and back drove it for awhile, then when I went to start my SUV in November. It would not start called the service manger told me to get a boost and if that does not work have it towed o Kia. AMA came gave me a boost when it started, I called the service department. The person on the other end said he the only person and was busy can I call you back took my name and number. Still waiting for the call back. I had to buy myself a new battery boosted that cost me $330.38. I called the warranty people and ask if there a mechanic close to me, they said yes called RepairBoyz. When my check engine light came on, called RepairBoyz they told me it was misfiring. It needed a timing kit, head gasket, and a tune up. That cost me more money $3,250.56. In total cost me $5,445.11. So in in total for the journey $13,753.86, and the repairs comes to $19,198.97. Almost close to buying a new vehicle Wrote a letter to the Manger of Northland Kia on March 17, 2021, he received it and I have not heard anything from him or Kia. With this bad experience I had with KIA in my own words I don’t trust Kia. In may of 2020 I bought a 2014 Dodge Journey R/T for 13,753.86. Within 5 months I had the oil filter cooler mount go, then in September the transmission went. Cost me to have both fixed
