I purchased photographic services and later I was sent a link for the photos. The photos were so disappointing and unedited, unfocused, backs of people, and I had to keep directing him, etc. I responded to his email with the photo link that we were disappointed. He just sent the second (final) photo link for the last set of photos but we did not even look at them. I wrote to him to say of our disappointment and said I didn't view them due to being so sad. This was for my daughter's wedding in Ottawa and we flew down from Iqaluit, Nunavut. My 92-year old Dad is an Anglican minister and officiated the ceremony. It was a once in a lifetime, an extra special event. I was also disappointed at his lack of communication during the over one year leading up to the event (delayed from last Christmas due to Covid) and had to email many times, and it continued that way up to today. I then emailed him to say we have to find forgiveness and I want to move on from this great disappointment and to just resend the two links to access our photos. I paid over $1,000 for them but they are NOT worth it but at least some are okay, maybe half that value. But he won't respond or resend them. This event was last August and we are now in Dec. Please note that I think he is mad due to our disappointment but also when he did not respond, my daughter (the bride) wrote on a website about it which I think was warranted. I hope you can please help us resolve this issue. I have many, many, many emails stating the concern and then just asking for our photos... as well as another saying I would need a mediator (***) to assist us if he did not send me the photos (not that I paid for those poor quality ones, but there are no others so I lost out badly at my daughter's wedding).

The client sent abusive emails to my company claiming the images were of poor quality without seeing roughly 60% of the images.

She then declined to download the remaining images.

Her daughter then libeled my company online, in particular on a review site called Yelp.

I explained in an email that I have zero interest in any conversation with a person who behaves in such a manner.

She continued to ramble on in a number of emails which I do not intend to answer.

I did suggest that she hire a Lawyer to send me a professional demand letter to which I will

gladly respond. My response will be to first seek compensation for libel and after that is paid

and the review removed I will complete my contract by sending the images.

I am rejecting this response because: I paid for the product (2 links for photos) that he is withholding. It is up to him to seek compensation if he feels that my daughter's comments were worth that.  Besides, I paid for the photos and not my daughter.

I did not send emails that he explains but rather told him that I did not find them to be the quality we expected.  I wrote to say that there were so many out of focus or the backs of people.  I did not say anything terrible to him, except to say why I was not happy with the photos... from the first link.  When I tried to open the second link, I could not open them and they were not available to me to view.  I even wrote to him that maybe they were nicer but I had been too disappointed to view them initially.

The post he is not happy with was not done by me and I have no control over others.

I paid for the photos as a gift to my daughter and my contribution to a wedding.

We paid for a photographer once we got back home and recreated what we could, further costing us to compensate for it.

Seeking damages is a separate topic. My paid photos are being held when he could do what he wants on his end, not in this manner.  I saw another post by another client who was not initially happy with the lack of communications or return of her property but then he did return the items.  Why did he not withhold the items if she posted that?   My daughter posted her disappointment to the photos that only happen once!  This was not a yearly event!

I personally could also warn others... most especially now with fighting for the photos that I paid for!  But I have not done that.

I never wrote nasty emails but I can understand if he was hurt by our disappointment.  With his silence, as over the last 2 years, it was not easy to know that so that caused the most frustration until we received the photos adding to it.

in the end, I wrote to say that I want to move on, and I believe in forgiveness and wanted to have a peaceful end by requesting the links be resent and to close the 'file'. This does not mean we get the photos we wanted or paid for, but rather to not have to resort to all this.  I still offer that today even if I too felt initially to get a lawyer to make a claim with the first set of photos as proof.

    Sincerely,
