Don't be fooled by official-looking loan documents and sophisticated looking websites as they are easy to reproduce. Just because a business appears legitimate, doesn't mean that it is.
Read your contract carefully and make sure you fully understand all terms and requirements.
Always verify the company's address. BBB advises against doing business with any company that cannot provide you with an address that can be confirmed as legitimate.

On May 1, 2018, BBB investigated Bristol Lending Group's business practices. The investigation was prompted by consumer inquiries. Consumers have reported to BBB that Bristol Lending Group offers advance fee loans. Advance fee loans are illegal in Canada and the US.
On May 3, 2018, BBB verified Bristol Lending Group's website to determine when it was created and where it was registered. The website was created on April 30, 2018 and is registered to a privacy protection organization in Panama City, Panama.
Consumers who apply online for a loan should make sure the application form is encrypted. If the form is not secure, any information transmitted on the form may be intercepted, which could result in identity theft. BBB could not find any evidence that Bristol Lending Group's website is encrypted or provides secure transmission of data.
BBB urges caution when choosing whether to do business with a company whose physical location is unknown. BBB has not been able to confirm whether Bristol Lending Group is in fact located at 250 City Centre Avenue, Ottawa, ON.
