When we first contacted Toro we were connected to **** ******* and from there this project started coming into fruition. **** covered all of our questions and was always available if ever had new ones.   Being skeptical about ** ****** *** *** ***** about a steel roof company, we chose to go ahead and try Toro Steel Buildings.
  After working with **** ****** over a period of time we felt comfortable enough to buy a new roof system from them.
  She was very knowledgeable and has been a great help throughout the process.
  All time lines were meet at every step and we just received our roof. We are excited to get it put up and be able to keep our items covered from the weather.

  **** ******** ***** ********* *** ***** **** ***** ***** **** *** *** **** ***** ** *** **** *** *** * **** ** ***** **** ***** I made the mistake and purchased a Toro building earlier this spring and now I have a pile of steel sitting here. So many hidden fees and things that a first time Builder just does not think about or even know to think about. I purchased this DIY kit falling hook line and sinker for their spiel thinking that this was going to be a cost-effective quick DIY solution. It is none of those. This is the first ground up project that I have ever had the opportunity to do and so some of this is my fault for not knowing what I was getting myself into. I explained this to **** but he reassured me by saying that 75% of their customers build these kits themselves. That they are a company built on trust and they always have their customers best interest in mind. They have their pocket book in mind. * ***** **** **** ** **** **** ** ** *** I do feel like we were consistently not told the entire truth. My building is a larger size 33 x 60 two bay garage with an attached workshop. In no way shape or form is the average DIY builder going to construct something like this with a couple of buddies and in a couple of weekends. $15,000 in equipment rental, almost $40,000 in a concrete slab, $45,000 for the building kit itself, and $50-$100,000 for a contractor to put this together. Shoot for that price I could’ve had a larger garage/shop with windows and doors, insulation, concrete and all the wiring built. I even asked **** if they had any recommendations for builders in this area and no of course they do not. This started out as a fantastic dream but has descended into a horrific nightmare. Toro‘s support ends the second you sign the last check.

  what’s included and what elements—such as concrete, equipment, and
  installation—are handled separately by the customer or their trusted local

  help you locate local builders and to provide continued support where possible.

  No. I’m sorry he did not. In his email **** states that they do not have any local sources in my area and I would have to find my own private contractor. He gave me no resources, had he had provided any of that information I wouldn’t have been trying to locate contractors for the last few months. I’m sure this will be a wonderful building once it is assembled. But from my experience ***** ******* There’s a lot of hidden costs and Toro sells their buildings very well.

  Hi, **** over at Toro Steel Buildings, you requested info on a steel building recently.
  If you still need a building, get back to me quick.
  One of our customers forfeited a 6-building order and the deposits.
  Factory is clearing them for the remaining balance.
  What width and length were you after?
  ***I gave him dimensions and door configurations. He stated over the phone that if he gives a better price it would be through his boss and my ability to give them sales leads. I told him i did not want to sign or give any money until I spoke with my wife later down the road and that I was just pricing it out.
  Sales rep:Sorry I think there was some confusion between my boss and I. I don't think he understood you still need to speak to your wife. I was just confirming the price he could do for the smaller 30x30x14. He told me for the gray he can work with you at $13.9k delivered.
  Toro sales rep: did the wife let you off the shackles? Last chance to get it before the dealer. If you can manage DocuSign and $3475 call me quick

From the initial contact and the order, to the design process, in the payment process and contract management, through the factory, shipping and delivery, ***** was there to coordinate all.   I inquired about a price for a building i seen ads on ******** for a price for what I was looking for and when they found out it was a bardominium I was then advised they had to get with engineering to give me a full price and the price was then 3xs the amount that was originally advertised on ********. They use standard material 12 and 24 gauge steel and when I asked to justify the difference they advise me they are a premium company with a superior product but couldn’t tell me anything what would make them stand out. Then I asked for just a “steel” building not a barndo the company sent me bible versus and then told me I couldn’t leave a review cause I wasn’t a customer however I have an email with a building structure as getting a quote would make me a customer please be mindful and ask questions ** *** ** **** ****

  Thank you for your feedback. Our
  buildings are all custom engineered for each project, and only starting prices
  per sq. ft. are shared on ads or in ad comments. The ad you responded to
  featured a warehouse-style building; engineering a barndominium changes the
  classification to residential occupancy, which must be designed accordingly for
  safety and code compliance. In this case, added engineering requirements
  increased the cost, and when this was explained the customer specifically
  stated they would post a review rather than continue the discussion. We note
  that the same review has also been posted elsewhere regarding this single
  interaction. While pricing may not always align with initial expectations, our
  priority is safety, compliance, and long-term value. We will never compromise
  safety or code compliance to meet a lower price point.

  When I researched the engineering and got with an engineer the engineering of a commercial building is more then a residential due to the larger capacity vs a barndo would be so this is backwards as well and I tried to continue the discussion and the company turned me away which I have text to prove this as well as the person with toro then sent me biblical quotes randomly afterwards

  appreciate the opportunity to clarify. Storage buildings and living quarters
  are not engineered the same — a barndominium must meet stricter residential
  codes, and in this case tall walls and high wind conditions required further
  engineering. These factors, not advertising, explain the cost difference.

  ads state “starting at US
  $18/sq. ft.” for basic storage buildings. Residential projects cannot be
  offered at that price without compromising quality or compliance.
  
  
  
  A
  single biblical reference was made during only the initial exchange and has since
  been addressed internally. After multiple negative reviews were posted, we did
  not find it productive to continue the discussion.
  
  
  
  The
  customer is under no obligation to purchase from us and is free to choose any other manufacturer.
  Our priority will always be professionalism, safety, and long-term value. Unwarranted negative reviews don’t change that. We
  consider this matter closed.
