l am being generous with two stars. Let me explain, I have used this company in the past, to move my grandmother on more then one occasion. They were fantastic and helped her set everything up. They took a lot of the stress out of her move, i decided to use them again when it came to my move.
l am a widow and raising a daughter, but our world is small. We don't have people in our lives that we can count on to help move us. The ones that are in our lives should not be doing heavy lifting.
As soon as we sold our home I called Morrison's moving and I booked an estimate. Sean did a walk through my home and property. I had a large property with a 3 car garage. Sean saw this and gave me an estimate, I booked the moving date feeling I was in the right hands and I was not worried.
For months we were busy packing and organising..even colour coordinating boxes to go in the correct rooms. I felt 80/20% that I had a handle on this move, I was not in a position where I could bridge a mortgage so I had both closings on the same day.
This means the new owners of my home were also moving in on the same day.
Moving day came and I was greeted by three confident men who were full of smiles and were very polite. I still felt I was in good hands. a few hours into the move one of the men came and told me the truck they had was not big enough. OK, I am going into problem solving mode, He told me not to worry they will see if they can get another truck and bring in another crew. OK, at this point I figures things happen but this is what I am paying them for. it will get moved.
Sean calls me and tells me it is a long weekend and unfortunately there is no truck or crew. I needed to problem solve and get back to him?! Yes you heard me.. there was no second truck no plan. but they were still full of smiles.
So I offered to see if I could rent a truck from *****. the gentlemen explained to me that that was not going to work they could not drive another truck.
My neighbours offered me their yard to store my stuff on until it could get moved. we could move what we could in our cars. OK we had half a plan,
the crew of three packed the truck..and instead of helping us ( remember we are paying them hourly) get things over to my neighbours lawn they take a break while I was waiting to get the keys to my new place, so my self and my poor neighbours had to move all the contents that were left on my driveway..and it was a lot ..had to get things moved over..while these guys sat in their moving van while I paid for them..outside of my new place. That is not nice and polite..that is manipulative they didn't care.
Fast forward a few hours I finally get the keys to my new home. I had a quick walk through but I had to return to my other house. The new owners were also trying to get in and at this point they also had legal possession of my old home. I still had a lot of things on the driveway and even in the house. Morrison's movers left heavy furniture on the 2nd floor they shrink wrapped it left the desk and the heavy coffee table on the side. The movers claimed they didn't know it was also supposed to go, (***** why did they shrink wrap it) . Thew new owners were throwing fits and screaming at us about still having my things on the property, they had their moving vans and it was a real mess.
I could not be at my new home to supervise where everything went in. I was busy cleaning up the mess Morrison's moving left behind.
When we finally finished I was on my way back to the new house, and the movers did not want to stay until I returned. When I got there my heart sank. I paid them to help me stay organised. to make sure that the heavy lifting I can not do on my own was done.
They threw everything every where.. Nothing makes sense.. they took off because they did not want to be here to see the half fast job they did!
They were nice and polite to my fast.. but I am telling you I felt ***** by the time they were done.
This company doesn't care! They are not trust worthy! They want your money! not a single apology for all the extra stress. The best they could do was to offer to send a truck 5 days later to pick up the rest of my things. All Sean said when the move was over and he called to collect his bill was it was too soon.
It has been 2 weeks.. I still have furniture I can't lift on the wrong floor.. I have no one to ask I will have to.
They saw an opportunity to take advantage of a widow with a child and they succeeded.
Imagine taking a 3 hour break! while leaving me to move everything off the driveway my self! remember that. plus I was paying them!
If they had only had the correct size truck, or the workers would of at least help move things over to the neighbours place. It all would of worked out in the end,
I learned a lesson that day. Not everyone who is polite is a good person.

This is the second time we hired Morrison with the first being A++ on all accounts.
This particular time we chose Morrison since the owner, Michael M. personally came out to provide us with a quote and assured us that IF there were any issues, they "don't mess around" and will rectify the issues immediately!
1. We had a damaged wall in the house we moved out of.
2. The door to the basement was ripped out of one of the hinges. I replaced/repaired that at my own cost and time during the day of move.
3. Damage in the form of a chunk of the bottom of my sons dresser being ripped out which has yet to be resolved.
4. Scratches on my sons dresser face which has yet to be resolved
5. A $300 mirror broken which has yet to be resolved.
Before the movers left, we had to e-transfer funds and provide proof thereof, which we gladly did. However we reported and provided proof of the damages as soon as they were realized and still a month has gone by with zero rectification aside from offering us $100 refund. A $300 mirror and solid wood dresser are damaged and all we get offered is $100....not to mention I fixed the door on my own. We have to continually follow up.
It's pretty disheartening when the owner of the company assures you that any damages or issues will be resolved without delay and when it happens, you are the one doing follow ups multiple times a month, sending emails and phone calling with ZERO resolution.
We have been more than fair, more than patient and extremely disappointed in the post sales/service support!
