    Called first time to get an estimate to come out and replace an existing shower assembly (rough in, cartridge, faucet/overflow plate, drain assembly. Would not quote me a price over the phone. I tried sending photos of my existing fixtures to them at the email requested and the emails bounced. I also took advantage of a financing offer they have on their website. The plumber arrived and surprises started; I could not use the financing for less than $1000, they couldn't replace my Delta parts (don't know why, it's one of the most standard fixtures out there), bumped me up to a ******* set whose controls actually work worse than my old one. This should have been a simple "cut out the existing rough in and replace" plus swap out the trim, but the plumber took most of the day. At the end of the day I was charged $1800 for the work. I later examined the actual work done, and looked up the parts used, and quickly came to the conclusion that I was significantly overcharged for the work, including considering the parts and labor, which should have taken 1-2 hours at most for the work done. Called today and spoke to the owner (who had not returned previous calls) and asked for a price adjustment and he refused, not addressing the overcharging, even considering I had a phone quote from a master plumber (who was unavailable at the time for the work) for less than 1/2 what G&C charged.The work seems fine but the pricing was a ripoff, and I'd recommend to anyone considering G&C to instead find local plumbers who offer reasonable pricing.

    Hi ****,I would like to thank you for taking the time out of your very busy day to write this review, but I would like to shed some light on this Very misleading review, You were informed at the time you called us that we do not give prices over the phone, every house is plumbed differently and we need to look at each job in order to give an accurate upfront quote, After the Licensed technician looked at the work you wanted done, You were given 3 options at which time you told the technician that you had another quote for $600 over the phone, we informed you that we could not fix your problem for that price and it was your option to wait for the Guy who quoted you that price, you chose to go with us to fix your problem that day for the upfront quoted price of $1797 (which was quoted before any work began, the work did take longer than expected because of the way the previous plumber did the work, but we still stuck to the quoted upfront price that you agreed to before any work was started, not sure why your emailed bounced, we get pictures from customers on that same email 30 times a day, maybe you typed the email address in wrong, the office made you aware when you called to complain about the agreed upon price after the work was done that I was on vacation, but i promptly returned your called when I got back, I tried to address the price concern with you, but you just kept telling me about this quoted price that you got over the phone from a master plumber that did not look at the work, nor could he even do the work, so I guess its pretty irrelevant what someone who cant even do the work quotes you over the phone, we pride ourselves on be open and honest and upfront with our pricing and thats why we take the time to look at each job and always give 3 options and let the customer know what the price will be for each option before any work begins, all of our prices are in writing so we are open and honest with every customer. again thanks for taking the time to write this review.Thanks,GregOwner at G&C Plumbing & Heating LLC

    There is nothing misleading about my review; when I had a chance to examine the work done and price out the parts (which AJ double checked again and the retail cost - which you would not pay - comes out to less than $300, so you ripped me off for about $1500 in labor for what should be a 1-2 hour job. There is no statute of limitations on being ripped off. I asked for a reasonable price adjustment and you refused basically telling me to my face that I was foolish for signing and have no right to check and come back when I found out what was actually provided. I hope anyone else reading this stays far away from your business, and I will now be filing a complaint with your financing company as well. If I had charged this on a credit card, Id file a chargeback against you as well.

    Also there were never three options presented and in fact didnt actually replace the delta hardware which is what I actually asked for and even told your receptionist when I first called.
