    on or about 2/4/21 i had recieved a final quote by astro to move our home. the quote was in line with 3 other companies, the first move was more than double the original quote, the second move was where we found all of the damage to our property including a largr safe they dropped down the stairs, damage to the home and up to 75% if our belongings. someome came out to the home to adress the damage, admitted some fault and promised some sort of result. after numerous phone calls from my wife, no one ever responded.This is a short version... this company lied from the beginning and damaged our property

    We have moved ******************************************************************************* the past, we have both packed ourselves and had movers pack for us, so this experience was a nightmare we didn't expect. I have no idea why Astro is rated well by BBB, and I relied on this rating to select a mover - not going to make that mistake again. The sales rep clearly underestimated our household contents, so we asked him to come back and re-estimate. Still, we thought it was underquoted. Indeed, we were not told until after the move was complete that our load was overweight and that they had left a LOT of our items in the ** warehouse - of course, all the things we used until the final moments and then did not have when we arrived at our new home 15 hours away. Later, they blamed us for adding things we hadn't mentioned to the estimator (nonsense). The van driver and his guys were pleasant, but careless. We had many things broken, several antique items that cannot be replaced. The boxes were stacked way above what the cartons can support, so things were crushed. When we initiated a call to the office to find out when the rest of our belongings, they assured us they would deliver them two weeks later. Two, three, four weeks passed and no belongings. Finally received a call that they were on their way - only problem: they didn't alert us before the van was about to arrive at our home, and we were 5 hours away and not planning to return for a few weeks. So, a relative let them in to drop all the goods in our house, many more of which were broken. We later found out three more things had not been shipped, so we had to make our own trip to the warehouse to retrieve them! No apologies or any regrets expressed. One more disaster: the Astro estimator encouraged us to move a playset we had planned to sell and replace, so we let them send out a 'professional' crew to deconstruct it. They left their equipment in the yard and never labeled the pieces, so the crew in our new town couldn't make heads or tails of it. Then, we were told they would find another 'professional team', which never happened. After weeks, we found our own people who managed to rebuild it with internet instructions. We are billing Astro. Although boxes were clearly marked, many were left in the wrong places. It was like a scavenger **** to find most of our things. We wouldn't recommend this outfit to an enemy - so glad to finally have this behind us, but still have to deal with all the breakage and destruction. So much for the pleasant people -we would have preferred unpleasant people who actually did a good job.
