Alpha Smart Builders, owned by ***************************, constructed a deck at my home from April-September 2021. The contract provided a one year warranty on the deck. Over the winter, several cables on the deck snapped loose from the posts and several appeared very loose with lack of tension. I contacted ************ on March 22 via text and received no response. I again contacted ************ on March 29, again with no response. On March 31, I again texted ************ about the deck issue and stated that I would need to pursue this with ****** inspectional services to see if the cables met code as they appeared loose and unable to handle much stress. The lack of cables in the broken areas and loose cables in others are a continued safety issue and I informed *********************, the Director of Buildings and Structures. I had asked ************ for the building permit which was signed at the final inspection, which has to stay with the property forever. ************ took the signed permit and has yet to provide it to me, despite my request and a phone call from ************** to provide it to me, as it belongs at the property and was paid for by myself. I finally received a response on March 31 which was nasty, unacceptable and unprofessional and inappropriate. He claimed he was too busy to assist at this time and that he would not be in the area for a while, and that he wasnt thinking about me and my issue as he was working long hours. After ranting and raving for several texts, he said he would assist me in a couple weeks. Note that ************ only lives about 20 minutes from me and the repair of the cables probably would take less than an hour, maybe even less. It has been over a month with no assistance. This complaint asks the BBB to remedy the situation, that the business immediately repair the broken cables within a week from the date of this complaint, or compensate me to have another contractor do the repairs, estimate $375. ************ also needs to provide me the signed permit.
