I have used Stop and Shop for many years and I have never had any problems until today. I noticed lately that there aren't anymore Stop and Shop delivery trucks in my area. When I put through my order it appeared to be the same, nothing different. I choose my food, time and day and placed the order to be delivered today between 2 and 3 pm. After I placed the order I saw that it said an affiliate of Stop and Shop would be delivering my order. I soon found out they had started using Instacart.This afternoon I received that standard email stating my order was on its way. About 30 minutes later I received a text from my "delivery person", *******, that he couldn't find parking. There is a delivery space in front of my co-op building and I told him to park their briefly. I was waiting and waiting. Eventually someone rang my intercom. I looked at the camera and asked the woman who she was. She spoke absolutely no english and was waving around a clipboard with a piece of paper on it. Again I asked who she was and she just kept speaking in Spanish. I do not speak Spanish. She then proceeded to leave. About 20 minutes later she came back. My husband received a phone call from our super saying there was a woman here with bags from Stop and Shop but she did not speak English but our name and apt. were on her invoice. He came down and she left all 11 bags and left. Obviously our "delivery man" did not deliver our order. I called a consumer rep who stated that the delivery people do not bring the bags to anyone's door and leave them in the lobby once they get in touch with the customer. That was not stated nor stipulated on their on line ordering app. ******* wanted to know why I didn't attempt to communicate with her. I said I DO NOT SPEAK SPANISH, she DID NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. ******* also said that the supervisors do not take phone calls and would possibly get in touch with me in 48 hours. I will never, ever use Stop and Shop again.Review from Marie W

Don't know what was nastier?!?!? The restroom overflowing with trash and p*** or the managers mouth as he was harassing a homeless woman doing nothing wrong but being homeless and choosing to shop there. He was completely disrespectful. So something needs to change the manager's mouth was just as gross as the restroom toilet.Review from Corlis M.

The ************* Jamaica Plain location is a disgrace! The store is poorly ran, never stocked, charges more than the other locations outside of the inner city, understaffed and what is truly sad about the situation is that a lot of people depend on that store for their basic grocery needs. How can a store in good faith sell products that is spoiled, bruised and over priced? The management is never available and to answer questions in the store and why on the eve of a snowstorm, there is only one cashier ringing up groceries awhile the other available cashier is at self checkout helping customers? Is *********** hoping that the store fails? Do better ***********!!!Review from Kim H

I came into the Lexington location on a Tuesday mid-afternoon, the store was not too busy. I tried to pick through some less than impressive broccoli, most of it was either yellowing or shriveled up.Moving on to steak, most packages were GRAY. Not red or even brown, but ****. Right outside that area, a few employees were openly complaining about how "someone should be fired for making that decision". Really incredibly unprofessional.Moving on to cold cuts, an employee was restocking and I moved around him to find ham steaks. He shifted this cart to 1) block my view of all the products and 2) glares at me without saying anything. He then said, I'm working in this area. I said "I can work around you, I'm ot asking you to move. You don't have to looka t me like that. He then proceeded to talk trash about me to another customer nearby.At the self checkout, an item rang up not on sale and I turned to the person on staff and kindly asked about it, he wordlessly came over to hit the zero bag button and walked away.. Please hire actual human beings who can be kind in a service position. NEVER shopping here ever again.Review from JOANNE P

This week's circular (Dec ****, 2023) advertises Mix and Match Blueberries - 1 pint, Raspberries or Blackberries - 6 oz., Buy One Get One for $1 of equal or lesser value. I purchased 2 Blueberries @ $6.99 each and one each ************************** @ $4.99 each. I was expecting to pay $6.99 plus $1 for the blueberries and $4.99 plus $1 for the Raspberries/Blackberries, totaling $13.98. Instead, it was rung up as $6.99 Blueberries plus $1 for the Raspberries AND $6.99 for the Blueberries plus $1 for the Blackberries, totaling $15.98. The Raspberries and Blackberries being of lesser value than the Blueberries increased my bill by $2. Although the amount is negligible, I feel it is deceptive advertising and misleads consumers. Stop and ********************* reimbursed my card/account towards a future order, However, he confirmed that had I purchased the berries in two separate transactions, this would not have occurred.Review from Gail N

Stop and shops practice of digital coupons definitely does discriminate against those who are disabled, elderly or simply the poorest among us!!!! Took my niece grocery shopping there and unbeknownst to me she bought a few items that stated digital coupon price!! She has no smartphone/apps and ended up paying approximately 10dollars more because she didnt understand what that meant and just assumed the price in the sign was the same price. To those living on a small income this is a good amount if money! A sale should be a sale PERIOD!!!!!Review from Bob M

Used to work at Stop & Shop as a teenager over fifty years ago; a cashier in high school. That was in the ********/******** ** (a line in the store floor where ************ ran through). Was a great store first large Supermarket in our area. Shopped there for many many years, but over the past few years no longer do. They are so high priced on 98% of there items and the turn over is such that I will not buy anything that is fresh from milk, bread, produce, seafood meats etc. They obviously do not want to keep customers happy with competing for our business!Review from James A

How can I buy a stop and shop gift card with cash and then get told that I can't buy cigarettes at that same store with the same gift card because it is store policy? In addition, I get charged for paper bags that they pack my groceries I just bought from them in? When asked about the cigarettes, I was told it Is store policy, but was told "no, you can't see the store policy." That's probably the worst customer service and most ridiculous policy (if it's real) I have ever heard of. How do you pay cash for something but then can't buy an item that store is selling? I'm about ready to take my $1000 a week across the street to market basket.Review from Tania M

The Pharmacy is the worst experience for a vacation city. I ordered my high blood pressure medicine 5 days ago and still have not be able to pick it up due to many excuses like No system, call later, we do not have it but can be order, still waiting and we will refill it after our break but it is two hours before their break unbelievable costumer service. My medicine is life threatening but they treat me like it was a favor to me. I could have go to ******** and get it myself in the ferry but they made me wait and then they did not care. I purchased chicken salad from produce department last week (approximately june 10 or june 11) While eating it for lunch this week I bit into it and found something extremely hard and unedible.. I pulled it out and it was a long bone. How could this have passed any inspection before putting on shelf . I nearly broke my tooth or nearly worse and couldve choked on it. What if a child or elderly person was eating this? Since having this experience now i no longer trust my own local grocery store and afraid to eat anything without inspecting it first. You should be ashamed of yourselves a store as big as yours serves such poor quality.Additionally, I emailed customer service multiple times with no reply . They finally replied weeks later and stated I can bring my receipt for a refund . Who saves receipts for weeks and responds to someone like that after finding a huge bone ? Sent from my iPhone
