In December of 2020 my son called to tell me there was water coming from the kitchen ceiling. I went over to see what was happening. I went to the 3rd floor to look at the roof. This is a rubber roof and what I saw was the rubber lifting away from the structure whenever the wind would blow and had pulled away from the dormer. This where the rain was coming in. This roof was 10 yrs old when this happened. I called the business and mentioned what was going on. He sent over the roofer that he was now using because the original roofer had gone out of business. The roofer went onto the roof to evaluate what the issue was. He noticed several issues with the roof. The dormer window was too close to the roof, no boot on the stink pipe, flashing along the chimney was done incorrectly and was surprised that it had not leaked. Also the original roofer had used pieces of roofing when it should have been a solid piece across the roof. He said he would make a temporary fix. He said it would get me by winter because to repair the roof would take temperature above 50 degrees. I text him my address so he could send me a bill and an estimate to repair the roof. I received nothing from him. On May 27 I sent another text for a date for the repair and an estimate. I received nothing. On 7/9/2021 I text the original contractor and mentioned that his roofer was not getting back to me. He said try calling or use another roofer. At this time, I realized that the contractor was not going to back up his work which had been improperly done. I asked him if he was absolving himself from any responsibility for a roof, I paid him for and had been done improperly and fell far short of the life expectancy. He told me he would look at it with the roofer and if it had been done wrong, he would take care of it. Text him 8/24 and said it's been 5 weeks. He said he has not been able to reach him although he said the roofer would be doing a roof for him in a week or two. Need more space to continue???
