Sweepnman Chimney Sweeps Response
06/13/2023
I would like to thank you for your feedback. Feedback helps us improve our systems and procedures. Thank you for taking the time to explain your concerns.
As certified, trained professionals, it is our obligation to point out, and document, all the problems that we find inside our customers chimney(s). We are trained to the standards found in NFPA 211, IRC, and ************* Building Code.
All of our Technicians are continuously trained, and certified by CSIA and / or NCSG. We also host training classes at Sweepnman. These are for our own technicians, as well as technicians from other sweep companies.
The pictures that we provided in our report show gaps, cracks and holes in the clay **** tiles (and mortar joints) located inside your fireplace chimney. Our report also documents a few other issues that indicate a high heat event. This is a term that insurance companies use. Claim procedures vary depending on the insurance company.
During one of the conversations between our technician and your insurance adjuster. Your insurance adjuster said that he didnt know that much about chimneys so he would have to bring in a third party to look.
If another Certified, and professionally trained, Chimney Sweep performed an inspection of your chimney, they would have found the same things we found.
A video camera is a very important tool in the inspection process. You cannot thoroughly inspect the inside of a chimney without using a video camera.
As we offered on the phone, we would be happy to come to your house again and show you the screen on our video camera as we run it up your chimney ****. We would appreciate another conversation, in person, about why we stated that your chimney is unsuitable for use.
We would welcome the opportunity to meet with the insurance adjuster or anyone else that told you that there is nothing wrong with your chimney.
I take this complaint very seriously.
The reputation of my company is very important to me.
Please call me at my office if you have any further questions.
