I unfortunately am an American home shield client, more on them later. Soumadel hvac was assigned as One of my heating units had no heat. They were notified Saturday and were able to schedule a visit on Wednesday. When I spoke to *****, I asked for the techs phone number but I wasnt given it. I then got one of those nice trackers that told me where the technician was and it looked like they were on the way. they never showed up, so finally, I was able to call at the end of the day and ask where they were. The response was that they had knocked on the door and nobody had answered so they left. Apparently they had texted me Which I never received. I dont understand why nobody called me and why the technician didnt call the office to alert them that they couldnt get into the house , my tenants and my property manager and myself were all available if they had called. We all went out of our way to coordinate for this visit. Many people were inconvenienced. So I had to seek out another provider as they had nothing available for the rest of the week. In retrospect, Im glad I didnt work with them due to the unprofessionalism and lack of customer service. The bottom line is that American home shield doesnt care about the warranty and doesnt really want to get your problem fixed. This company is just one part of a big problem.Soumadel HVAC Response

Greetings *****,
Please do not publish a 1-star review and complain about American Home Shield as they are a separate entity than **. If you wish to complain and post a review about AHS, please do that on their own page.
Now about your visit. we have sent you a notification that we were on our way to your property. upon our arrival to the property, we knocked several times on both sides of the house, but no one responded. We are under no obligation to keep on pursuing you via phone calls after we already texted you and arrived at the property. If you or your tenants were not available at the time of our arrival, it is not our fault. We have notified you but you or your tenants were not there. I have called you afterwards to give you your options with AHS. So please do not post comments that are untrue.

I am an American Home Shield client and Soumadel HVAC was assigned to service a Minisplit unit. Upon initial assessment they seemed fantastic, and replaced my broken unit in December with an allegedly better unit. That however was the only acceptable part of my experience. Initial work done in the condo was on January 25th 2021. Soumadel HVAC installed a new mini split unit . This was left incomplete at my condo with no word. There was a 4 inch x 4 inch hole left in the wall, and although my wife was home, the technicians did not mention this to her, and I discovered this when I returned home later that evening. When I spoke with Soumadel HVAC about the incomplete job, I was informed that they install and do not modify, it was left for me to repair. I understand that painting would not be covered by the warranty however the hole left is not a proper installation. This was left for me to repair on my own. On July 1st I contacted American Home Shield about the ** unit leaking. After several attempts to set up an appointment, a technician was assigned and a repair was attempted, however the unit now leaks more. After continued attempts to set up an appointment with Soumadel HVAC (he had made and canceled several which results in me missing time from work) someone came out to reassess, and the solution that was explained to me was to lift the unit further up, run a new drainline (they used the existing drain line in previous install) and see if that would work. I was also told from the HV** tech during that visit (July 22nd) that I could drill a hole in the outside from the outside through the concrete block and just **** it with spay insulation foam that they sell at *********** I asked if he meant that when his technician came back they would be doing this to assure it was properly insulated, he told me no, he does not do that, it would be left for ME to do. The reason they they do not do this is because that is not the purpose of the spray foam insulation. In fact if this is done incorrectly it will blow out either the interior drywall, or crack the concrete exterior wall. However At this point I still continued to work with him and accept his answers. He also informed me that when they comeback to move the unit, that it would likely leave another visual hole in the wall that he does not fix, as that is not their job. I still continue to accept this as an answer. The last time I spoke with Soumadel HVAC was Wednesday August 4th at 12:33 PM EST. I was told that he would call me back by 3:00 PM when he makes the schedule for Thursday and Friday (August 5th and 6th). That call never took place. It was not until Thursday August 12th when they did finally reach out to me by phone however left no voice mail. I can only assume this was a result of contact from AHS to the vendor. The report that they eventually left for AHS notes that there is improper insulation behind the unit that they installed (I used to do this work, and NEVER would I have installed a unit without insulating behind it. Typically that would include removing old insulation and adding new). Furthermore the fact that they can report the lack of insulation means that this was a known fact to them but they wanted to ignore it. If you are looking for quick easy work that *** or *** not be done correctly, Soumadel is the *** for you. I however can no longer wait for unacceptable work to take place. Currently on hot days the unit drips about 1/4 of a cup of water in a 4.5 hour period. I have photos that document everything that I have stated above, however the BBB review does not have a place to upload them. Just an additional tid bit of information that perhaps will help their technicians in the future. IF they ran their own drain line initially AND assured the that refrig lines AND the drain line was properly insulated and the hole through the wall was actually air tight, this condensation leak should also be no issue. However since neither of those happened, the issue continues.
