      We’re been customers of DEMCO for years and never experienced an issue until this week. My husband forgot to pay our Utility bill while I was working out of town. After being told to pay a certain amount he did so only to be told an incorrect balance. From there he promptly made the additional payment and requested the service be restored. A dispatcher came out to restore services only to find out it was rushed and half complete. The following morning my husband realize that the tag and seal wasn’t put back on our meter and sitting on top of our trash can. He immediately informed Demco of the situation. Demco replied by stating that they would have someone come out to look over the issue reported. When the dispatcher arrived he accused us of tampering with the meter and charges were applied and the meter was removed and the area was locked which we didn’t find out until later that afternoon. My husband disputed the false claims and they finally removed all associated charges after an investigation with the exception of the EBRP Inspection requirement charges. We were stuck to paying for there error. We are now going on 48hrs without lights and air. All food lost. While waiting on a supervisor or dispatcher to show up. The time is now 8:25pm cst. Who will reimburse us for all items lost due to stupidity, lack of accountability and unprofessional practices. Who will credit us for the additional cost for a expedited expense to have a Inspection come out. Now mine you he did his jobs HOURS AGO and yet no has showed up. Is this how you treat your clients? Would you treat us differently if we weren’t a family of color. Does it not matter that we have kids and pet’s depending on us for comfort. I am beyond disappointed in the service and lack of compassion for the situation that this company created. Shame on you DEMCO, DISPATCH DEPARTMENT AND THE ENTIRE ORGANIZATION FOR NOT MAKING THIS TOP PRIORITY. Are we going to have to sit in the heat until the next business day?

      081523...Certified letter from Demco to move Meter Pan to outside structure. 081523...Spoke to **** @ Demco several times. 081623...Electrician **** ******* came out for an Estimated $1,200.00. 082823...***** *********, ******** and ****** ******** came out to residence to look at property and gave 90 days instead of 30 days (letter) to complete. 090723...***** ******** advised have to MOVE METER PAN! 090823...Called and left message for CEO, ***** ******. 090823...Emailed ******* ***** @ Louisiana Public Service Commission.

      Billing is inconsistent. Amounts are incorrect. And, even though you have paid more than what is on the bill, your power is disconnected. The customer service representatives are unkind. If you can avoid this company, do so.

      They do not work with you at all . They just like any other energy comps are always about money and screwing their forced costumers with unjustified charges for no reason

      Awful Company With Numerous Billing Errors & Inconsistent Amount Due Along With Disconnection Date different than actual bill charging extra fees that are incorrect.

      Demco has a real problem with keeping the power on on Highway 43 from New Hope Baptist Church northwards. It makes no difference if it’s 90°, 50°, or 20°, they can’t keep the power on consistently. I have had numerous electronics equipment damaged and air conditioning capacitors replaced because of their power surges and because the power continuously goes on and off. The power goes on and off whether it’s raining or sunny. They won’t admit to it but they need an infrastructure update down this part of Highway 43 in order to correct the problem. I noticed that other parts of Livingston parish can keep their power on more consistently than around here according to their own outage maps. It is truly pathetic that the power goes off as much as it does with no apparent reason other than infrastructure

      Wednesday October 19, 2022 my power was shut off, we paid it that day and they said it would be back on before 7. It was never turned on after already being paid. It is a cold night so a friend turned it back on for me since I have a baby and very cold. I knew maybe i would get a fee for turning it on or maybe someone say something, but never have i done this or would have done this If I didn’t have a baby and promised it would be turned back on that day. The next day they shut it off , locked the box, and took the whole meter out. I talked to TWO people that said that it would be turned back on that day and no one ever did so I had to get a hotel for the night and was not very nice the following day speaking to someone. Finally my fiancé had to call for them to turn it back on. This was doing to much and very petty for a company to act this way. I feel as though because your the only electric company y’all can do as you please and it really shows. Spent Almost $1000 just because YALL didn’t do as you said you would.

      I NEVER WANT TO DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! They don't want nothing but your money! they don't care! They have always been very expensive and have gotten even more expensive when the gas went up (PRICE GOUGING). They disconnected my services. The same day not even 8hrs later i paid the bill because i forgot to pay it early in the morning. They disconnected me and wouldn't refund my reconnect fee considering i paid the bill in less than 8hrs of them turning it off. I wanna say THANKS DEMCO FOR BEING SO CONSIDERATE KNOWING WHAT SHAPE THE ECONOMY IS IN!!! They sent a txt out before the kids got out of school saying they were looking into some help for us and that was it!!! My next move will not involve DEMCO! I also called last week to express my disappointment that they wasn't doing anything to help us . Entergy sent out a mass announcement on how they were going to give a $150 credit to qualifying customers so i feel DEMCO is an extention of entergy so they should be doing the same for us! BOY WAS I WRONG!! so i asked for a supervisor to call and no one called. When i called today i was told the manager had just left for the day. So i was not a priority AT ALL!!!! I JUST WANT MY $50 BACK. WHY CAN'T I HAVE MY MONEY THAT I WORKED HARD FOR BACK! I'M A HEALTHCARE WORKER AND I WORK HARD TO SERVE MY CITY WHERE IS THE APPRECIATION AND COMPASSION FOR ME!!!!!!!!

      I understand inflation is everywhere right now, and it's not just Demco it's all of the electric companies, but how do you expect people to pay these high prices? I guess it's one of those things either you pay it or you don't have electricity. What I hate is it's not like a cable company where you can cancel and use another company, either you pay or not have lights, they're are no choices, so it's okay to jack the prices up, which is complete ***
      I think about people who are on a fixed income, how are they supposed to pay these prices? My husband and I work ours butts off and most of our extra money is going to our electric bill. Our electric bill has almost tripled. We budget for a $300 electric bill, which I know it can increase some, but when your bill is 100's a dollars more, how do you budget for that?! Not to mention, we have bumped our AC up and are practically sweating, and we still are paying these outrageous prices to keep our electricity on. This is ridiculous!

      We certainly empathize with your situation. The high cost of natural gas has driven electricity prices higher than ever and we urge our members to take steps to reduce their usage. Please take a look at some of the energy saving tips found on our website, www.DEMCO.org. Many of our members find that using the levelized billing option has been helpful in spreading their cost over time. Also, please check out our DEMCO Foundation that may be able to provide assistance if you are facing extreme hardships. We are working hard to establish a new power contract that will allow us more flexibility in our wholesale power costs. Please stay posted for updates about the new contract in the coming months.

      My last bill was paid June 21st, give or take a day, and when I went to the app to see my balance, the app wouldn't show anything. I did not think anything of it. Fast forward to today, July 8th, and I have no lights on when I make it home. I instantly think I forgot to pay my bill so I go to the app and it's still unavailable to me so I called the number listed and put in both my Account Number and Phone Number and the system tells me THEY DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT FOR ME. At this point I'm thinking I put in the wrong account number or something, so I call again and use my phone to go to website and the same thing is being said even on their website. KEEP IN MIND, ITS A FRIDAY AFTER 5PM AND I CAN'T GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE TO INFORM ABOUT THIS GLITCH IN THEIR SYSTEM AND TO TURN MY LIGHTS BACK ON OR TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON!!! ALL OF MY FOOD WILL BE NO GOOD, AND I JUST WENT TO STORE TO GET GROCERIES!!! I WANT A REFUND/CREDIT FOR THIS MAJOR INCONVENIENCE!!! HORRIBLE COMPANY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! WHY MAKE PEOPLE WAIT OVER THE WEEKEND FOR SERVICES TO BE TURNED BACK ON OR SPEAK WITH SOMEONE? THIS IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!!
