We completed a landscaping project with Twelve Oaks Landscaping in June 2021. We paid the company $22,045 to plant a large number of plants: 5 magnolias, 7 arborvitae, 7 hollies, 1 maple, 7 tea olives, and 6 camellias. We also paid for adjustments to our irrigation system so that these plants would be appropriately watered.At the time of the project, I objected to planting the camellias brought by the company because they were infected with scale insects at the time they arrived. When I voiced my concerns with the owner of the company, ***************************, he told me in a text message that: "the tree farm has sprayed those camellias for the scale. I will have my spray tech follow up with another application. Scale is not detrimental to the plants. All plants are guaranteed."Unfortunately, the scale insect has turned out to be detrimental to the camellias. They continue to be severly infected with a majority of the branches requiring removal. They also has been no growth on these plants due to the infection. I have repeatedly asked ****** to effectively treat the scale or to replace them with healthy plants. I have paid for additional pesticide applications myself, had them professionally pruned, even purchased ladybugs that eat scale insects. I have done everything possible to save these plants and unfortunately it is not possible. All the other plants are thriving.****** has refused to rectify the situation or follow through on his plant guarantee, and has now stopped responding to all emails. At this point I do not see any other resolution except to refund the plants that were installed with a disease and were planted with an explicit guarantee. I feel this is quite reasonable given the fact that scale insect is an issue that spreads, and has already spread to some of the neighboring tea olives that Twelve Oaks planted.The camellias were $600 a piece so I am requesting a refund for all 6 of them, with a total amount of $3600.
