I had Thermal Tech **************************** Conditioning come to my home for a season check on my A/C system outside my on 3/30/23 through American Home Shield (AHS). The tech seem like a good guy and said my A/C was fine and Freon was good. He didn't need to change my filter as I did it myself before he came. The weather was cool from the 30th until about April 5 when I put my A/C finally on to cool down the upstairs that evening. It was 77 degree in the house. I was getting no cooling down at all that night. I called AHS immediately and told them to have Thermal Tech contact me because they were the last one to touch my A/C. The next Tech who service me called the next morning and had me see if the fan outside on the A/C was turning. It was. Thought he would come back out but he would not w/o a new service request. So I called Thermal Tech **************************** Conditioning office and spoke to a lady who was rude. She told me it was a week since they did the service. I told it was the 1st time I had the A/C on since the service. She basically was no help. Contacted AHS 4/6 & told them I need another company to come & check my A/C because something was wrong. The next company could not come until Monday, 4/10.I was shocked to find on 4/10 when new company tech came out & I was watching him the whole time. He took off the cover and went to check my Freon level and we heard a hissing sound. He show me where the previous Tech from Thermal Tech **************************** Conditioning did not seal the opening to the Freon and all my Freon escaped from March 30th and why I had no cooling.Note before the Thermal Tech **************************** Conditioning tech came out on March 30th I had cooling. I just did the preventive maintenance recommended by AHS. But Thermal Tech **************************** Conditioning tech in retrospect did a terrible job on my A/C having all my Freon escape because he did not seal it prior to putting on the cover. Cost to me $375 for lost Freon by Thermal Tech **************************** Conditioning.Thermal Tech Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. Response

It was over a week and tech paperwork said everything was fine. If tech would have found an issue while there he would have told the homeowner and he would have had to place a work order and pay a service fee. We go by his warranty company guidelines. Tech did maintenance and it was fine then he calls a week later stating it is not working, even his warranty company advised him it would need to be a work order placed. Per tech invoice with signature from customer his units were working fine when tech was there and left. It is not rude when your following the warranty companies rules and is not what is wanted to hear.Customer Response

Thermal Tech Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. continues to lie to BBB about the service I received on 3/30/23. When the tech came out my A/C was working fine. It was a seasonal check to make sure my A/C was in good shape for the summer. The Tech from Thermal Tech Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.even stated on 3/30/23 that my Freon level was good. So how come in 6 days when I first used the A/C after the Tech from Thermal Tech Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. said I had good level of Freon was it al gone when on 4/10/23 another company was sent by AHS to look at the problem immediately found (and I was there with him) that I had almost no Freon and that the tech from Thermal Tech Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. level the cap off causing all my Freon to escape. This has nothing to do with warranty. It was a case of shoddy work by Thermal Tech Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. tech to not seal the Freon after he checked it. Thermal Tech Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. is they wish to receive any favorable review need to reimburse me $375 for the replacement Freon i had to have added on 4/10 by the company sent by AHS. Unless I am reimbursed, I will continue to place bad reviews all over the internet for Thermal Tech Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. and what they did to my A/C on 3/30/23....shoddy work and standing behind shoddy work says all I need to expose of Thermal Tech Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.Review from Talie J

we paid $400 for an AC tune up - "special price" by American Homeshield. *** came in and basically looked at the units but did absolutely nothing. I expected the tech to look at the unit and do preventative maintenance for that price. After he left our upstairs unit which was fine stopped working. Complete waste of moneyThermal Tech Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. Response

Everything that your warranty company tells us to do was done. They do not pay to clean the units or change filters. It is literally to check and make sure they are mechanically working which they were at that time. If issues would have been found you would have had to place a work order and pay a service fee to have it addressed according to your warranty company. You did not pay us, you paid them and tech did what they tell us to do. This is not on our company this should be on the warranty company.Review from Cindy R

If I could give a negative score I assure you I would. I had no choice when American Home Shield Warranty used this place. The technician showed hair disarray like he just got out of bed, came with a bandage on his hand which was quiet noticeable from the start. He said the line was cogged, blew it out, but did not have a working shop vac to remove the water from the drain pan this caused. The ** worked for all of 8 hours. Called AHS back, the same company has to come fix it and told I can call Thermal Tech to schedule. The receptionist, ***** was unprofessional even answering the phone and through out the entire conversation. She tried to say the technician burnt his hand blowing out the clogged line, not he came with a bandage. The asked me what's wrong with it now? Last time I checked, I am not the ** technician. She also stated there was no urgency because the ** was working with the tech left and it wasn't an emergency that my son is asthmatic either, it would be 2 days before anyone came back. I cannot NOT RECOMMEND this company enough. AHS needs to discontinue their contracting as well looking at all the horrible reviews as proof.Review from Jameka C

Beware!!!! I went through AHS and they sent this company. The technician reported false information to AHS and they denied our claim to fix the ** unit. The technician told me a part needed replacing and I eventually noticed that is not what he wrote on my order form. I double checked with AHS because they were already listed on my list of companies to not send to my house based on a previous experience years ago. Terrible company to do business with!Thermal Tech Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. Response

The tech's inform the customer that we turn it into their warranty company and their warranty company makes the decision to cover or not based on their policy and picture proof. Bio organic growth and missing items are not covered on any home warranty company in the market. The tech informed the customer of this, and informed that if it was covered we would call when part came in. Her warranty company declined the repair as it did not meet their guidelines. We do n ot make that choice.Review from Wendy H

BEWARE!!!!! We went through American Home Warranty to have our A/C Serviced. The tech that came out said our Freon was NOT low - it was not cooling because of the temps in our attic and we needed to install a fan - which is crazy. He also stated we have 60 days to come back out. Our A/C stopped cooling and I put in a request of reservice on day 32 and we were told by AHS we only had 30 days! We were fully taken advantge of. We highly recommend not using this company! Today we had a different company out so much more professional knowledgable and said we werre over 3lbs low on freon. That did not happen over 30 days unless the service tech tampered with our a/c unit. This company needs to be shut down!Thermal Tech Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. Response

Our tech's let the customers know if they ask that they have either a 30,60,90 day recall period based on their policy they pay for. They know every policy is different and it could be either of those amount of times based on what they have. When she called the office she was advised to call her home warranty as that is their policy and I told her it was past the 30 day period her policy shows she has. That is her warranty company and her contract. When our tech was out to her home he found her run capacitor reading very weak therefore the motor wasn't spinning at the rpm's it was supposed to be spinning. The tech changed the run capacitor and checked her Freon. He found her Freon within normal range and not low at all. He suggested an attic fan be installed in her home to also help bring the heat out of the attic to help it cool better. If her unit was low on freon at that time the tech would have put freon in her system and charged her for it as her policy only covers $10.00 per lb. If her unit was low on freon she would have known within a few hours to a few days it was not cooling, anyone who knows heating and air knows a system can start leaking freon at any given time. 3 lbs is a lot to be low on to the point she would have known in a matter of hours to days as the unit would freeze up and not cool. We can not add something to her unit when it is not needed or would even hold it as it was full. She was told the recall time frames based on her policy that she pays for. She would have also been charged for Freon if it was low and we had to add any which she was not. We are sorry her unit has other issues after we were there as we can only fix what Is wrong at the time we are there and any item on anything in the world can break or leak at any given time. They can be leaking straight out of the box but we did not tamper with her system to make it leak Freon after being out over a month ago. They definitely would have had issues before then.
