I went to this office today as a new patient, as my last office stopped accepting my insurance. I have a very simple policy, that covers basic things like regular cleanings, x-rays, etc. Cleanings have been $10. The dentist came in today and looked at my teeth before they were ever cleaned, repeatedly called me the incorrect name, said my teeth look great & recommended a waterpik flosser. I thought it was strange that she looked at my teeth before I got them cleaned but thought, whatever. The dentist leaves and the assistant comes in with a piece of paper showing what she wants to do today (it was something like irrigation plus fluoride) bringing my total to $249. My previous dentist had never even attempted to try anything like this, but I respectfully told the woman I'm a single mom and cannot afford to spend $249 today, and would just like my regular cleaning. She replied that "she can only do what the doctor ordered" so again I explained, "that's fine, but truly, I don't have the money." She went to the dentist then came back and said the dentist claims she'd be doing me an injustice if I only got a cleaning and not the extras. I asked "so she won't clean my teeth?" and her assistant replied 'no." This is the craziest thing I've ever experienced in my life. Which is a worse disservice? Not cleaning my teeth at all, or only cleaning them and not doing extras? This place is clearly all about the money, and I understand everyone is trying to make a living, but the fact that she wouldn't provide the most basic service offered just because I didn't have the money to do the extra stuff she wanted is asinine and the WORST service I have ever received in my life. I wish I could give this place less than 1 star.
