I applied for my Fortiva card about 4 1/2 years ago, and my credit was in the 620 range.I have an exceptional payment history with Fortiva, and they have granted me to credit line increases over those 4 1/2 years which amounted to a whopping $100. Fortiva will not increase your credit limit substantially because they have absolutely no interest one to use credit responsibly. were only interested in ludicrous, unnecessary fees. I was checking my account yesterday and I had a pop-up on my Fortiva app indicating that I qualified for a 1% percent cash back card. Why not? I thought this was going to apply to my extent account with Fortiva. However this was simply a way of them creating a completely different credit line ($500) with a new card that came with an $80 fee and a $10 a month maintenance fee. why would any ****** except this type of offer from a company or financial institution with whom you already have a long-standing relationship im not going to put a new account on my ********************** report with a $500 limit, and ************************************************************************ up to 3% cash back. these cards are meant to keep people who cant pay their bills in full every month broke, and exploit people who might not particularly be financially savvy, or have the luxury of deciding whether or not to accept this card. No Stars! Fortiva is a scam. I closed my account in March due to the amount of fees they charge. I am charged an account maintenance fee of ***** in addition to interest per month on a closed account, I was told that the maintenance fee is for carrying a balance. They increased my monthly payment on a ****** balance to ***** per month, which includes the maintenance fee and god only knows what else. I didn't get a paper statement and they revoked my access online so I don't know what I am paying for, I called today and the *** put me on hold and never came back to the line. Something's not right at Fortiva. Recently, we began receiving text messages from their number 800-xxx-x961 advising us of a minimum payment due. We thought perhaps we had been hacked by an identity thief, but we had put a on security freeze with all 3 credit bureaus over 4 years ago. Our Experian credit reports show that we do not not, and have never had, an account with Fortiva. So 1) either someone is sending text messages using Fortiva's number, or 2) Fortiva's accounts receivable department is badly messed up, or 3) perhaps they are outright scammers as suggested by a number of complaints posted on this BBB website. A ****** search shows that this problem seems prevalent enough that an online lawyer is advertising that he can shut down these text **************** calls from 800-xxx-x961. Also, seems that every review posted on this website is reporting fraud & poor customer service. Where there's smoke, there's fire.Review from Jeffrey O

Fortiva is a scam . I was given a $1,000.00 line of credit for Musicians Friend . I made my 1st payment of $60.00 last month, which the minimum for my account. When it went through , I was left with 47 dollars of credit, which I had no complaint with. I went and checked it again this morning, only to see that my credit dropped down to 18 bucks. I contacted them and all I got was BS excuses from people who obviously are from ***** because I had trouble understanding them. This is a scam INO and they need to be reported. I tried reporting this to the BBB only to be told that I had to file a review, which I now just did .Review from Maggie M

I agree with everyone complaining about Fortiva credit card. They are not caring inconsiderate, a scammer and a fraud, which I dont appreciate it. Im disappointed with his credit card company, and I already reported them to the Better Business Bureau because of what they did. I donated money for charity, and what do they do close my account. I agree that they are scammer, a fraud, and this company should be taken out of business! Without my knowledge, they charged me $175 for a service fee for a yearly service for me. They are liars and a fraud!!! Fortiva /Vivint which is a security service that I had on auto-draft. I noticed that I would have packages and notes on my porch, I checked the camera, but it didn't pick it up at all. I called immediately to complain so they "updated" my system, well it happened 3 more times same problem. I called and sent a message of me ending my service, and ******* closed my account (so I thought, but never did) then I was automatically receiving cc text messages, I called because I said my account a closed and I never had nor own a cc so why would I pay for that!!! Well of course it's reported on your credit, which I have happily disputed, companies can't keep getting away with fraud. They have no transaction because I never used or owned their cc, how dare they!!! I did call my bank to make sure they no longer had access to my account to be able to take out the auto draft. They've been doing this so long that it's easy for them because one way they will make you pay is reporting you to the credit bureau, I noticed no reason /explanation was reported on their side, but was quick to say non payment, but give the reason why non payment. I went from 790 to 623...what in the world, wow, I know right!!Review from Brittani H

They are scammers I had unauthorized charges to my account before my ********************** report was due. They reported that full amount to my credit and now my credit has went down tremendously. Customer service is very rude, and they just kept me to different departments.Review from Susan I

Negative star review. This company took the entire amount due for a jewelry account out of my account on the first payment. They have lied to me and have not returned the money to me. They said they mailed a check, 3 weeks have passed. They mailed me a bill saying my account is overdue. Do NOT use his company.
