    A few months ago I purchased an unfinished walnut countertop from J Aaron Countertops. We were going back and forth on whether or not to purchase a finished or unfinished top. Debra, our sales associate, told us how easy it was to finish ourselves and it was. The top turned out beautiful. Unfortunately after being installed for only 2 months the glue started to separate. When I contacted J Aaron they advised me that since I had purchased an unfinished top there was no warranty. Even though their website states the "will make it right quarantee" It doesn't cover their craftsmanship on an unfinished top. Well now we know why there is no warranty on unfinished tops. J Aaron obviously is aware of the problems with their unfinished countertops. Otherwise why wouldn't they guarantee them! When deciding to purchase a specialty piece like this I would definitely not purchase from J Aaron Countertops. When their craftsmanship is sub par that is where the "will make it right guarantee" ends!

    Ms. ********* contacted us for a quote on a fully finished wood countertop but it was not in her budget. She then asked Debra, our sales associate, if there were any other options for her. She informed her about our raw wood slabs. Debra specifically remembers telling her that there was no warranty on them because Ms. ********* inquired why there was such a large price difference. The quote went from $2400 to $1600. Debra told her it was because, one they were not finished by us, and two there was no warranty on them. We also go out of our way to document it on the warranty page of our website.

    Wood slabs must be installed so they can expand and contract, which we also make clear in the install section of our website. If they are installed so they cannot move they will find a weak spot and crack. When I asked her about how it was installed, on several occasions, she refused to answer. I believe the slab cracked because it was installed incorrectly. All that said it can, with relatively little trouble, be toughly repaired and last a lifetime but she rejected all our support so she could spend her time writing inaccurate statements about us and our company instead of fixing the issue.

    There are very few raw wood products on the market with warranties. This is not abnormal in any way as without finish they are susceptible to weather, temperature, etc. and we have no way of knowing in advance how the customer will treat it. We went out of our way to help her with information and the materials needed for repair sent at no charge. She immediately became aggressive and started threating social media slander. I wish there were a way to complain about customers so other vendors could make educated decisions as to whether to sell to them and at what price.
