A few days ago (08-18-2022)I had a service appointment at Liberty Chevrolet in **********, **. I had scheduled my 2012 GMC Terrain for an ************ change; tire ******************* cabin Air filter ********************* side low beam headlight bulb replacement.While waiting for my vehicle a Service Rep came to me and said that the drivers side low beam would cost me $360. (Now I have worked on cars my entire adult life and have over 20 years experience working on airplanes). I know that headlights are not sealed beam any longer and everything under the hood is jammed in tight, but GM did have the foresight to put an access in the left & right wheel ***** (above and forward of the tire) to make it easier to access the headlight assemblies. So the low beam bulb is an H11 which can be purchased at any auto parts store for around $12 and it takes about 15 - 20 minutes to replace it (going thru the wheel well access). I had already figured that with Liberty Chevrolet's parts markup and their labor rates replacing the bulb should cost between $60 - $70. When I questioned the $360 all the Service Rep would say is the mechanic knows what he is doing (evidently not). I left Liberty Chevrolet and went to ************** in **********, ** and drove away in less than 45 minutes after paying them $59.34 to replace the low beam bulb. I will NEVER do business with Liberty Chevrolet again.
