On November 17th 2023 I received care from Amarillo Urgent Care. They told me I needed a covid test before they would treat me and when it came back clear she gave me a steroid shot. I went to leave and asked for my driver's license and insurance card (which they took when I filled the paper work out at the beginning) and the office lady said the nurse already gave it to me. I pulled everything out of my wallet and pockets and said "no, she didn't." She asked the nurse and the nurse argued with me about it even though I did not have my license or insurance card. I proceeded to look for 45 minutes around their office for it and we did not find it. I called an hour later and asked and they said they didn't have it and my husband called after work and they hung up on him. I called multiple times inquiring about my personal information in fear they accidentally gave it to another patient and I got the run around. I ended up having to replace both items that were taken from me. Then my bill came in the mail and I wasn't just charged for the office visit, covid test, and shot, I was charged for multiple tests, flu A & B which I didn't approve or know I was getting tested for. I have to meet my deductible before my insurance pays so I pay out of pocket for everything. I was never told the covid test was 150$ and I wasn't told I was being tested for other things and the flu tests were 120$ I tried to call and tell them I was never tested for the flu on 3/18/2024 and they informed me that I was tested because its an all in one swab. I never approved to be flu tested and it is unethical to run tests that aren't approved by the patient. It is also very irresponsible to lose someone's personal information and to turn around and act like the patient just lost it. This company doesn't practice good ethics. Their policies and procedures need to change. I also noticed they have a stack of peoples licenses and insurance cards in the front desk, so this is a normal thing for them.
