I turned in my vehicle for Service and was told that it would be a couple of weeks. The vehicle has been in service now for over a month. They said that the trailer hitch was only factory made and no after market parts were available. They are also charging me 3 times the amount anyone else in town would do. I have two Toyota's and I will not be buying another one ever.

Brought my new-to-me vehicle in because dash light said maintenance required, contact dealer. Turns out I just needed an old change. After an hour and a half, middle man between me and mechanic said front brakes were only 2mm and they could do it for $800, would take 2 hours. I was tired of sitting there and thought I'd rather get brakes from my favored mechanic. Made an appointment with my favored mechanic, come to find out I have 6mm of brake pads all around. What a waste of time and money. My mechanic said there was another customer in their shop that same day that was told the same brake b.s. from Kendall ***** Watch yourselves!

******* us into purchasing a full $300 key when requesting the casing alone. Absolutely scam artists. Never trust their service center to take care of you. All they want is your money. Heartless associates just smirk and repeat "you verbally agreed" when they completely lie and knowingly manipulate you. Save yourself the issue and never come within a mile of this **** heap.

Kendall Toyota of Anchorage continues to attach a substantial market adjustment to their inventory. This is around $5k for their ecconomy vehicles, and closer to $10k for their more expensive vehicles. They cite market demand and global shortage which has some ******. Framed differently, they will sell a vehicle for whatever price the market will support. While they have priced a good portion of their return customers out of the market, their are enough customers willing to pay the extortion and it is enough to clear Kendall's lot. This is nothing short of price gouging and completely unacceptable. Sadly, they have a monopoly on Toyota within the state and are able to operate with impunity.

My Lexus has been in service for 22 days now. The service advisor *********************************, did not contact my extended warranty company, I had to call my warranty company and have them call this service advisor directly then call me back to confirm they got ahold of her. This was April 26. Now it's may 3 still nothing, even after complaining about how long it's taking also complained about when I arrived I was told to reschedule because I described the problem in detail to them...also told $850 diagnosis fee?? Anyways may 3 I call my warranty company to see what's going on because I contacted Lexus and they couldn't get ahold of anyone at this dealership either. My warranty company tells me yes after I had them contact Lexus on April 26 they started the process finally, the warranty company is ready to pay for the work but guess what! No one from the dealership contacted them to finalize the payment. They literally neglect to use due diligence to get the car back to the customer. The customer has to to the job of the service advisor to get anywhere. Also I was emailed by this ********************************* service advisor that my car would be ready weeks ago, but it was not and if I needed my car the tech would have to pop the door panel back on this will cost me another hour of diagnostic labor if I need my car back because they are busy doing tire changes to work on it in a reasonable amount of time.I asked multiple questions in email like "why was I never offered a loaner vehicle?" But they continue to refuse to answer this idk why? ********************* the service manager whom called me the first time I complained to this dealership directly, big mistake this guy literally lies to me and says we don't do tire changes in anything else but lexus's, even though there shop is full of other brand cars. Here are links to some convos about this with my warranty company. First is about April 26. Second clip is may 3 check in with progress https://youtu.be/BHvXGSCiBF0 https://youtu.be/3tLb6uP-s7c

This business is taking advantage of the pandemic, the lack of a local BBB office, the disregard of the state officials for Alaska consumers, and slow arrival of inventory to blatantly price *****. They are demanding $6995, $4995 or $2995 more than the sticker price (MSRP) on virtually every new Toyota vehicle. If stores were gouging in this manner for toilet tissue or milk would not some entity take some action? In Alaska reliable 4wd vehicles are essential. As essential as toilet tissue. A lot of Alaskans like many Americans have been hurt by this pandemic. Business like this rubbing salt in our wounds is disgraceful.

      Kendall Lexus of Alaska Response

      02/02/2022

********************,Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, Kendall does not set the market when it comes to the pricing of not only new but pre-owned vehicles as well, the level of demand combined with the lack of available inventory does. Our new available units to sell is a fraction of what it has been historically and customers are demanding top dollar for their pre-owned trade-ins. This is not only happening in Alaska, but it is affecting all car dealers in the entire **** and globally. We expect new inventory availability to normalize soon, and the new and pre-owned market prices should follow suit. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. Thank you ********************* Alaska Area GM Kendall Automotive ************ cell

      Customer Response

      02/03/2022

I seen the response of the manager of the Anchorage Toyota dealership claiming that "the level of demand" sets the market or the price of his product rather than his dealership. The truth is that his dealership determines its markup over MSRP, and not what he refers to as "the market". I understand dealers feel entitled to the increased value of used vehicles and resent owners, for once, not having to absorb historical depreciation, but responding by price gouging for new vehicles to get that used car "value" back for the dealership is quite simply that; price gouging. He said as much in his response by referring to the increased value of used vehicles as justification for his "market adjustments" as he calls them. The senior leadership at General Motors has responded to price gouging at some of its dealerships by recently prohibiting the practice by GM dealerships. Toyota senior management should consider taking the same action. And there are dealerships in the Northwest that are making little to way more reasonable "adjustments" than Kendall of Anchorage. I have chosen to take my business to GM.

The Lexus side is great not bashing them at all. My problem is with the Toyota dealer side. One of the most rude aggressive pushy dealership I have ever been to. What they did is not the Kendall way I will be calling corporate Kendall office to tell them this dealer ship doesn’t deserve the Kendall name.when I walked in I felt I was in a lithia dealer ship and that should be Taken as a big insult. A few weeks ago I was in anchorage doing test drives of many different brands, to see if any interest me. To every other dealer when I made it clear that I am only doing trest drive not interested in buying at all. Not other dealerships ask if I wanted to buy after that point other Kendall were polite and gave me their card for when I was ready to contact them back. But the Toyota different story. This dealership is the definition of why some people are feel car sales men are the slum lords of society bottom. They never respected any thing I said the sales staff have zero respect for me the potential customer. I felt he only saw my as potential profit not as a human. Kept says I have to ask so I when are you gonna buy. I was clear and told him stop asking I’m not buying just drop it. The worst part is what I witnessed his sales manager did right in front of me abs this is why I will be calling Kendall corporate office down in the states. When I was walking out of the door leaving because I said I’m not buying just test driving I saw the sales staff go into the managers box And I purposely stop and ease drop because I knew they were gonna do is shady and disrespectful I could hear the sales staff say this guys leaving because he said he’s not buying and this is what they did that is uncalled for and disrespectful I saw the sales manager raise his voice and see you go out there and catch him and make him change his mind get them to buy now that is disrespectful uncalled for and I know you guys are going to leave response to try and cover yourself but there is no answer to that actions you guys knew what you did was wrong and I have every right to be mad at you and file a complaint against you I left a review on Facebook to expose this I’m doing business bureau and because of your actions I will be calling corporate headquarters and filing a complaint against this dealership you guys should remove the Kendall name abs calm your self lithia because when I walked I felt I was at lithia of south anchorage and that is not a complement Here’s a little critiques for you what your position is your job is customer service you sell people a product that they are satisfied in if you can’t take the time to understand and value customer service then I recommend you guys all quit your job and go find something else if you like screwing and taking a vantage of people and go be a telemarketer scammer because you’re no better than them you need to get some better training and learn what respect is if a customer says in clearer words I am only doing test drives today I am not in the market of buying you should never bring up are you ready to buy because you are not gonna change their mind all you’re gonna do is upset them and make them walk away so guess what because of your actions and your choices that’s the Your support that’s really going to set you up and guess what I really like the Toyota Highlander but because of your sales steps actions in your sales matter choice of actions I walked and GuessWhat once I get ticked off and screwed you lose me for life I will never buy from you ever you lost me as a potential customer for life and I have told other people to not buy from you I have become your worst enemy because of your actions you choose to lose a potential customer think about that don’t blow me up take this in stone because I’m going to a full Nother level on you guys everyone I know who says they love Toyota I’ve already told Phi people don’t buy from Toyota Alaska they don’t care Your support that’s really going to set you up and guess what I really like the Toyota Highlander but because of your sales steps actions in your sales matter choice of actions I walked and GuessWhat once I get ticked off and screwed you lose me for life I will never buy from you ever you lost me as a potential customer for life and I have told other people to not buy from you I have become your worst enemy because of your actions you choose to lose a potential customer think about that don’t blow me up take this in stone because I’m going to a full Nother level on you guys everyone I know who says they love Toyota I’ve already told Phi people don’t buy from Toyota Alaska they don’t care about youThey are just a commission base dealership where their goal is to make as much profit per customer as possible and see you as a margin number not see you as a human being and for that reason I will never step my foot in there again and I’m finally more complaints against you you guys should’ve rethought that before you did this you decide to screw with the wrong person I have a lot of experience in studying dealerships I do over 60 hours of research on vehicles and Cross can examining other manufactures and I’ve done training on how dealerships work how they make money how they make their margins I know how to find how long your vehicles on the lot what price your actions is what fear rated me you could’ve been respectful and just giving me a business card inside when you’re ready to buy please consider us here’s my card thank you for the test drive I hope you liked your product that’s what a good dealership does shady slumlord dealerships pushing pressure and pressure that tactics is 40 years old get with the program this is modern times it’s hard time does Covid you should show compassion and leniency for potential customers because right now they don’t have the things they used to but apparently you guys don’t give a darn and for that reason I’m not gonna waste anymore time on Toyota but your sister company Lexus was wonderful I walked in there asked to do a test drive the sales staff could tell I wasn’t interested in buying it let me do a test drive never Brought up once would you like to buy and he did the respectful thing in the end he said here’s my business card if you have any questions or interested in the future please consider giving me a call he did everything he was supposed to and they get a rating from me you guys get a negative F just like a lithia Lithia screwed me in the past and you guys are no better and I don’t need one of your scripted oh I’m sorry for the inconvenience we gave you message you know what you did was wrong there’s nothing you can do around this you can’t convince me to come back and buy from you so yeah take this into a note in that sales manager in that sales staff if they can’t do better if you guys need to let them go and find better people that will take care of people he was a new staffI will be respectful and not doing name drop but I will say he just came here from the Chicago area he’s new to selling cars you should know who that is and the sales manager is the taller person may be Filipino or Asian but I’m not gonna drop a name to be respectful cause I’m not gonna bash and individual person I am bashing the dealership in the head of the store should know better than that Kindle should fire him and find someone with value I went to the volts wagon Audi dealership incredibly respectful I stated I’ve never driven your product before I wonder how it drives compared to ever models and I’m curious to see if this might interest me down the road to see if I might buy one right now I’m not buying the young lady gave me her business card and never asked am I ready to buyI went to the anchorage Ford Lincoln dealership same thing I test drove a vehicle the young man gave me his business card never asked if I’m ready to buy I went to the Mazda dealership same thing and he went out of his way and I’m not gonna name drop said that if you choose to buy from us we can have the vehicle shipped to you cause I live outside of town you guys were the only dealership that failed and ticked me off out of all of them I test drove 10 vehicles in two weeks and you were the one rotten egg think about that and do better and start valuing your customers and if you can’t do that you are in the wrong line of workIn the end sales staff in cars are really customer service agents and you don’t sell a number you sell a product and a relationship with your customer that’s more important than your profit in your pocket because look at this you took me off you arse the buyer you made no money off of me and you upset me and I filed a complaint against you if you were polite I would consider and tell people to go to your dealership and also look at this if you satisfy the customer and make it great down the road the odds of them trading in coming back to you as hi if you’re rude and pushy and screw them they won’t do business you have a one and done and someone who cannot pull off for sale andYour business model makes no sense customer service is number one if you can’t provide that you have failed in closing really reconsider what you’re doing and educate your staff the correct way the Kindle way you guys are just a Lithia in disguise you knew what you did was wrong you just chose to go down the wrong path to the wrong person most people don’t follow through but guess what I stand up for myself and I don’t back down to bully thank you
