I would give minus **** points on "United Builders" if it allowed me. These guys are family-owned (mother and sons) and operated builders. They are nothing but swindlers. Do not ever give them the work/contract. I had them build my house in ********* (contract date was 6/8/21) while I was in Oregon- I planned to move up there in September since the estimated completion date was 12/30/21. I paid them $84,150, cash down payment, and I made $87,386.58- 9 weekly payments. However, after a contract was established and 9th payments later, United Builders looked to install cheaper materials. For example, even though they agreed to install a colored metal roof on my house, they sent me pictures of a plain "****" roof. They said the prices are the same, either colored or ****: I found out color roofs are more expensive. I've sent them an email asking them to be honest. Instead, they broke the contract right after my email, blandly blaming me. I learned that the construction wasn't done appropriately. The foundation is unable, and they also disturbed additional land on my property, which might create mudslides to my neighbors downhill. I never gave them permission to cut down trees and expose the ground like this. They never notified me about this reckless behavior on my land- I had to find out on my own. Lastly, they are incompetent builders. They assured me that they are building my house close to the electric pole to the main road so it won't cost me anything. However, they constructed my house too far downhill, **** charged me $3010. Worse, they refused to give me my "house plan." So this tells me they constructed my house without the "house plan," or there is a significant discrepancy in their drawing of my "house plan." *** brothers at United Builders told me that since my property is "out of city limits," they can "get away from many things," such as permits and save time. A little that I've known that they meant for their own benefits - cheating and poor construction. I asked them to pay back my down payment. They refused. Instead of paying me back, they covered the roof with "plastic" and asked me for $22,000. If you look them up online, they are prominent family members in ******, *********. One of them is the current Mayor of ******, and the other one ran for the State House Representative in 2020. However, no one is above the law. Stay tuned for more information.
