            I have AEP as my electric provider and have used their services for the last 15 + years. I was recently checking my bill for the month bc I noticed my bill had almost doubled! As Inwas looking it over I noticed that there was a charge from Volunteer Energy. I called AEP for an explanation, and basically what was said to me was we are essentially paying 2 different companies for the same service on the same bill! AEP said there was a letter sent out giving people a month (30days) to opt out of this service. Ironically, we NEVER received anything from AEP or VE giving us the option to do so (neither did our neighbors). AEP said they were allowed to do this because the town voted on this. I called and there is absolutely no such evidence of this “vote” either.
