On April 26th, 2022 my husband and I were traveling through Abilene Texas and looking to get an oil change done on our van. We used google search and found Lonestar Auto center was near to us and oil changes were listed as a service they offered. We asked them for an oil change, they agreed and indicated they did not have the oil filter in stock, we provided the oil filter which they agreed to take off the price. We also purchased two new tires. They began the oil change and to replace the tires while we waited in the area. After approximately 25 minutes they came to us and said "you are good to go". We drove 2 blocks at which point our engine seized due to no oil. Lonestar employees came to the van to see the problem, then left saying they would be right back. Over an hour later the sent a text message to our phone saying "sorry you are going through this, it was your responsibility to put oil in". We got the van towed to another company who diagnosed the issue as a seized engine due to no oil and replaced the engine at a cost of 3141.23$. We contacted Lonestar on April 27th to let them know and ask them to cover the cost at which point they repeated "it wasn't our fault, it was your (meaning the customer's) responsibility to put the oil in". They have not responded to further messages or emails asking for resolution. We have had to cover the costs of the repair as well as out of pocket costs, such as hotels and food ect, as we are not from Abilene.
