Read Complaint Details
Complaint: feel that I was charged for hours that nothing was accomplished. emp trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results! hired to clear a clogged drain. emp #1 worked for 4 hours with snake that was to short. Finally called another emp #2 that with longer snake and drain was cleared within 15 mins. I was charged for all 4 hours. $350! I don't feel it was my fault that emp #1 did not come prepared for the job. If emp #2 would have been the 1st one to arrive I would not have been charged so much.
Desired Settlement: I am willing to pay for the time it took emp #2 to clear the drain. I do not feel that I should be paying for 4 hours of work, by emp #1, that nothing was accomplished.
Business Response: Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2012/10/16) */ Trip 1 Emp no 1 arrived at 3 P.M., kitchen sink was plugged, removed P-trap and ran 75 ft of cable 5 times. Kitchen clean out was in crawl space under house. Had to break down machine to get into and again when getting out because of a barrier wall. Ran clean out 5 more times and would not unclog, pieces of tree roots did come out at this point.. (5 times is hard work in addition to crawling 10 'feet under a house) Emp no 1 called office and Manager said run it 1 more time, then call Emp no 2 as his Machine was 80' and might get past roots. Trip 2 Emp 2 Crawled under and ran 80 foot cable 2 times, pulled back roots and drain cleared. While waiting for Emp 2, Emp 1 rebuilt tub and shower valve in upstairs bathroom. When the job was completed, employees cleaned up, wrote invoice, she paid $350 (We accepted a post dated check) and discussed roots, We recommended run main line to prevent future occurrence Customer called later in evening, said leak at dishwasher, was not there before she said. Trip 3 Emp no 1 returned next morning and could not find a leak at dishwasher. At that time, a male in the house said they wanted mainline run and set appointment for later in the day Trip 4 Emp no 2 ran the mainline for free (normal cost) $125.00 It was surprising to us after all we did for this customer to hear from BBB. Our philosophy always is to keep customer happy to create return business.
BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved
