Complaint: Hired, on 8/15, to attend to two minor plumbing issues, rotate a shower faucet to correct hot and cold control and repair a tub drain closure which didn't hold the water. Also, requested bids on other plumbing considerations being entertained. It took just a few minutes to correct the shower faucet. It took, also, just a few minutes to clean and lube the drain closure. A bit of time, a half to three quarters of an hour, was spent examining the house, plumbing, etc. to gather information on the bid. Billed for 1 and 1/2 hours for this work. Never received the requested bids.Two weeks later (8/29), I contacted the company and requested refund of 1/2 hour of billing since no bids were received; response was fine. Never received the refund.On 9/20 contacted the company and, again, requested the refund of 1/2 hour of billing and was dismissed by company representative.

Desired Settlement: Refund of one half hour of the hourly rate paid at $105 per hour.

Business Response:

The amount paid by customer had nothing to do with the estimate he desired, he only paid for the service rendered!!  His request for a quote was asking for something free, which I chose not to give because of lack of plans to bid by.  I will send him a check today, 10/28/2013, for amount requested.  I feel this is an extortion demand and I did nothing wrong!
