Complaint: Parts were removed from the vehicle during the repair and not replaced. Business denied removing two plates under front bumber and motor My vehicle (2003 chevrolet silverado) was taken in to Blue Ribbon Auto body for repair following automobile accident. The vehicle was dropped off for service on 9/17 and picked up on 9/28. **************** prepared the service quote. On 11/2, I was changing the oil and noticed that a skid plate and a splash shield were missing from under the front end of the truck. I immediately went down to Blue Ribbon and asked them if they had removed the plates in order to perform repair of my truck. I spoke with ****** and I believe ***** and they looked around their shop for the parts and then denied taking the parts off during the repair. I specifically asked them if they had to remove the plate and splash shield in order to put the vehicle on the frame machine (the frame was bent in the accident and required straightening). We went out to my truck to look at where the plates were missing. At first I thought there was only one piece missing. ***** pointed out the location on the truck that he needed access to to make his repairs. After looking closely under the vehicle it was determined that there were two pieces missing. This did not make sense to me as removing these two plates requires removal of 9 bolts from under the vehicle and would be extremely difficult to remove without the vehicle being on a lift. ****** tried to state that because the plate was made from aluminum that someone probably stole it. This to me was a ridiculous assumption to make. The only place my vehicle goes is to work, the store, gym and then to my garage. ****** told me that they could order the pieces and charge me their cost for the items (approximately $150). I told her that I didn't think I should have to pay for them considering they were on the vehicle when I brought it in for service. I told her I would get back to her and left. I immediately went to ****'s auto body in ******** to get their opinion. The gentleman (******) that I talked to said that they would indeed have to remove those pieces to repair the vehicle. I then called ********** to see if they could help me out with this matter because they were the ones paying for the claim. ********** got Blue Ribbon on the phone in a 3 party call to see if we could work out this matter. ****** from Blue Ribbon stated that I had accused Blue Ribbon of Stealing Parts off of my truck. This is absolutely false. I did accuse them of failing to replace the parts that were removed but I never used the word "stealing." I asked ****** if we could have another body shop of her choice give us their opinion on whether or not the missing pieces would have to be removed from the vehicle in order to make the repairs. She stated she did not know any other body shops and that the body shops don't communicate with each other. I should also let it be known that when I picked my vehicle up on the 28th following service I noticed immediately that the Tonneau cover would not close and then I realized that they failed to reinstall a piece on the tonneau that allows it to close. I was told that no one was available to install the piece at that time so I returned on Monday October 1st and they did reinstall the missing piece.

Desired Settlement: I believe that Blue Ribbon should replace and install the missing pieces at their own cost.
