Complaint: The company is not willing to look at my dispute over a carpet replacement on a property I leased from them. Brinkman cannot show me pictures of the suppose damage and there was no detail explanation on the checkout list. I finally got a hold of someone but they could not do anything because they are the accountant. I left messages and there are no response.I finally sent a certified letter but they said the property is now managed by someone else. The other management company said, "They do not have any information on the property currently in the dispute. That Brinkman did not transfer the files over and it is a mess." The other management company is currently treating the property as new, therefore have no information about my dispute. I was a tenant of Brinkman, not the other property management(receive property when it was vacant).
Desired Settlement: I want my deposit back since the Brinkman has poor management and customer service too.
On February 1, 2012 Brinkman Asset Management, LLC (“BAM”) assumed management of the property located at **** **** **** **** *****. The tenant leased the apartment from July 20, 2012 to July 31, 2013. A final walk-through was completed with said tenant and the carpet was found to be damaged beyond normal wear and tear. The carpet was replaced and the tenant was charged $1,847.00. $870.00 was withheld in security deposit and $977.00 was the remaining balance owed.
I am rejecting this response because: there was no message but I am going to close the complaint. The other company resolved my issue.
BBB's Final Determination: After reviewing the position of all parties, BBB determined that the business made a reasonable offer to resolve the complaint. However the consumer did not accept the offer.
