Complaint: made me feel like I was some type of hypochondriac and did not listen to me only argued with me. She should dismiss the bill, as she dismissed me The evening prior to my apt with Dr. ******** I had a very weird episode experiencing chest pain, jaw pain, dizziness, sharp pain in the middle of my back and hot flashes. I did not go to the emergency room because it went away. I have also had similar type episodes before and I have never got an exact diagnosis from any doctor. Many tests but never has it been pinpointed to one thing or the other, some believe it is indigestion. No exact diagnosis. The following morning (Friday) I was still feeling weird and the episode was just different and because it was Friday I thought maybe to be safe I should have it checked out. I got in to see Dr. ******** at 2:00 that afternoon. I described my symptoms to Dr. ******** and she said to me "and yet you did not go to the ER!" At the time of my visit I was experiencing a lot of abdominal pain and I felt more comfortable laying down and spreading out my abdomen, sitting up only made the pain worse. She told me to sit up twice, she just acted like she did not care that I was in pain and made me feel like I needed to put my pain on the back burner and I needed to give her my full attention. While doing the physical exam she acted like I grossed her out, she ordered me to move my hair, undo my belt, etc. but just made to feel like I had some type of infectious contact disease. She was belittling and tried to make me feel like a fool, she argued with me instead of trying to understand what I was saying. I am not a healthcare provider if I were and I understood my body I would not of needed her to make me feel like I had nothing to worry about. I find it very difficult for a doctor to make a patient to feel like a hypochondriac or whatever her intention was. Women are at an all time risk of dying of a heart attack because we always downplay our symptoms and try to tell ourselves nothing is wrong and it will go away. So for a doctor to make a patient feel like she is a mind case is unforgivable. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone, she is pretty heartless. I felt like she only did an EKG on me just to cover her own ***. I know she did not want to do one. I almost just left the office, I could not believe how belittled I felt. I don't know if she was frustrated because it was late Friday afternoon and she had an early weekend planned??? I don't know. I guess the first tell tale sign should have been the cold greeting that you get from the front office personnel. I really wish I would not of consented to the EKG and just got up and walked out. After the EKG I was going to tell this doctor just how belittled and judged she just made me feel, only problem is she peeked her head in the room while I was still laying there half naked with all the probes hooked up to me and said your EKG is ok. Then she disappeared so I was never given the opportunity to say something. So people if you are reading this and first person that you meet in your doctors office is cold and heartless and not welcoming and personable chances are the doctor you are paying so much money to see condones this behavior and behaves the same way. Get out of there and go to a different office that appreciates your business one that does not treat you like an idiot.
Desired Settlement: It would be nice to have my bill dismissed, as I felt dismissed.
