Complaint: I had my truck in for repairs at Hallers repair in Cheyenne Wy. They had my truck for a week, so it definitely was not a rushed job. I picked my truck up and when driving home my left front tire fell off. Very scary. Luckily no one was hurt. They are claiming they did not take the tires off however one of the recommendations was new wheel bearings. It was towed back to their shop and I never received and apology or any offer to fix the damage done when this occurred. I paid them $400.00 for the work they completed and some that was not completed. I feel they are negligent and I am insulted by the treatment I received. All 4 of my tire had lug nuts that were missing and not tight (able to remove with fingers).
Desired Settlement: I would like an apology and at least a partial refund due to the fact that my tire fell off my truck while driving it home from Hallers repair shop. They made no attempt to admit to wrong doing or to checking into further damage done by this incident. This could have been catastrophic and I want to save someone else from their negligence. All 4 tires had lug nuts that were not on tight (able to remove with fingers) or missing.
Ms. ***** brought the truck to us because her throttle cable was stiff and wasn't returning to idle. Also her LH outside door handle didn't work, and there was a missing door lock and no key for the other door. She stated that the truck had been in storage for a long time and that she would like to restore as her budget would allow.
We installed a lighter spring on the carburetor and mixed some cracked vacuum caps. I recommend tune up parts and she declined.
We took the inner door panel apart and fixed the outside door linkage. I ordered matching door lock cyl.s with keys for the truck. Those locks are paid for and they have arrived.
We changed the engine oil and filter.
I had some recommendations Ms. ***** to consider. Which are listed on her invoice.
None of the work that we did on this truck involved checking, inspecting, removing installing the wheels and tires.
I did her help her with this problem at no charge to her.
I have attracted my invoices
I did talk to Ms. ***** about wheel bearings aa something to be considered about but she only approved the work we did.
I did put a note about that. But we din not remove or install tires on this truck.
We weren't paid to do it And she should talk to who was the last person who did do wheel work on this truck.
Consumer Response: Complaint: ******** I am rejecting this response because: I HAVE HAD NO WHEEL WORK DONE ON THIS TRUCK ANYWHERE ELSE. THERE IS A CHARGE ON THE INVOICE FOR CHECKING TIRES ALONG WITH THE RECOMMENDATION FORD WHEEL BEARING REPACK. LIKE I HAVE STATED BEFORE I HAVE HAD NO TROUBLE WITH THE TIRES OR THEM FALLING OFF UNTIL 10 MINUTES AFTER DRIVING IT OUT OF HALLERS SHOP. I AM REQUESTING AN APOLOGY AND 200.00. I WILL SETTLE FOR NOTHING LESS. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT A REPUTABLE MECHANIC SHOULD GET AWAY WITH. Regards, ***** *****
