Complaint: I took my 1965 Chevy P.U. to affordable auto body and paint on Feb.22.2014 along with a deposit of $2700.00.to have repairs made as a result of an accident that happened in January.Two months later after many stories of why it was going so slow(can't find parts,no time to get parts,your car is next, etc.,etc.)I told ****** that I was very frustrated with the lack of progress.(I even took the time to find them a parts truck and arrange for it to be delivered to them!)****** informed me that he had other vehicles that had to be done and that mine was a $10,000.00 restoration(****** bid this job at$5272.00 knowing fully that I did'nt want reproduction parts) He then told me that he would refund my money and that I could take the truck back. A few days later I took him up on his offer and informed him that I had made arrangements to have the truck picked up and we could settle up.He seemed surprised at this.They did manage to do a little work on the truck a few days before I picked it up.(Took off fender, removed door,& sand some of passenger side of pick up)He informed me that I owed him for 8 hrs. of work done on truck. I told him that I did'nt see 8hrs. of work! instead of getting into an argument over this at the time, I paid him the $400 he wanted. After showing the truck to a couple of other auto body men,they confirmed that there was no way that they did $400 worth of work! In short please read any reviews or complaints against a company before making a bad decision like I did! And ******,once you start lying,it's hard to stop!

Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $250.00 that I feel I overpaid for what little work was done.

Business Response: **** ****** brought his 1965 Chevrolet pickup truck to my business for repair and paint work. When **** left his vehicle he told me that he did not want any after market parts put on his vehicle. I spent several hours calling for original parts and also spent time driving to look for parts. **** called me and said that he had found a parts truck for sale at which time I wrote a check for the used pickup and paid $120.00 to have the vehicle towed to my shop. A week later **** showed up at my shop and after seeing his vehicle was not finished **** began yelling about his truck not being done and I tried to explain to **** that other job orders were ahead of his vehicle but he did not want to hear that. **** wanted to take his vehicle somewhere else and I refunded his deposit of $ 1700.00 and charged him $400.00 for the tow and the work I had already started on his vehicle and also the time it took to call and travel to look for used parts which I think is more than fare.

I am rejecting this response because:I spent my time looking for a suitable parts truck,found one,went back and paid for it out of my deposit and set up a tow truck of affordable auto body's choice. the first thing i hear from one of the "body men" is are you going to bring me a fender and door? These parts need work! Its obvious to me that these "body men " didn't want to do anymore than they had to nor did they know what the deal was. Also I did express my frustration with the lack of progress but that was after the parts truck had been there for 3 weeks not 1 week as stated! After I told him about my frustration,they sanded part of the right side of truck,cut the fender off and took door off. which I was told that it took 2.5hours to remove door.(Really,on a 49 year old pick up! 2 men ,6 bolts 15 minutes is more like it!). To me bottom line in my mind is he under bid the job and his "body men" were out of there element on working on classic trucks.

Complaint: I took my car to Affordable Auto Body & Paint LLC about a year ago to get a new paint job, and windows tinted. ******, the owner assured me that he would take care of my car, because he knew it was my baby, (and it was brand new). He had a sign up advertising that the paint job would cost me 699.00. He ended up charging me 1250.00. When I got my car back, I noticed that there were several dents in it. ( One in each front door, and one on the roof. About a month later, I noticed that some of the paint started chipping off, revealing the yellow color that it had been previously painted. He did not paint the inside of the door jams, or around the windows/hood/fenders. I immediately told him about my concern. He then told me he would fix this issue by painting over the yellow spots, as a touch up. Here I am a year later, there is black paint chipping to expose the yellow paint underneath. My brand new car is rusting in the front/underneath the fender. I will never go here again. The owner ****** lied to my face several times saying he did everything he was supposed to. If I were a guy, I bet he would have never taken advantage of me like this.

Desired Settlement: I want my car sanded down, primed, painted, and sealed like he promised me.

Business Response: ******** is a ex girlfriend of mine and I did do some paint work on her vehicle which she still owes me $600.00 for. ******** was never promised a complete paint job for $699.00. She has called me about some problems with the paint on her vehicle and was told to bring the vehicle back so I could look at the vehicle and never has returned with her vehicle.

Consumer Response: Better Business Bureau:

I did date ****** for a short period of time. However, I don't think that is important or pertains to this claim. ****** told me several times before beginning the project, that he would be stripping the old paint off, and repainting it. ****** didn't do that. He painted over the old paint.  The only solution he has given me so far is to cover the yellow with cover up paint. It is true I didn't finish paying for the project after seeing the end result. But the amount owed is $200, not the 600 that he is claiming.
